David in LA has heard my LPMMs with 2" burns stainless tubing and he didn't think they were loud enough. I think he is thinking of LPMMing RSRs.

My 993 is a daily driver and I ride Supercups. YEE HAW. I plan to tone it down but I'm so addicted to the noise. It sounds like the 2" would be a good step down.

How hard (damaging) would it be to go from 1.5 to 2 if I wanted more cowbell?

So the RSRs fall in between the 1" & the 1.5", closer to 1.5"?

Are you saying that given the RSR & 1.5", you like the RSR better?

I aggree with MarkD...2" is just right. I have to open the windows ( I don't use the radio that much) to get the real blast. Inside it asa peacefull as can be unless I am at WOT and above 5000 RPM.

Maybe we can compair at the Mar 14th XXX brakfast and drive to the Defrost Kickoff. LJ, you gonna be there? Anyone with a recorder.

BTW, last summer we did a comparo with video sound...stock, factory Motor Sound, RSRs, and my LPMMs...it sould be around here somewhere.

Cheers

I would guess that the pipe on the factory muffler is either 16 or 18 gage, but not knowing for sure I would error on the conservative side and go with the 16 gage. It probably wouldn't make much difference either way, but the price difference is minimal and the weight saving would also be minimal by going to 18 gage.

lol more cowbell...

Hey, Darin (FisterD) recently went from Supercups to LPMM so you might want to ask him. Definitely 2 different worlds.
His is a bit more robust since he also cut the cans open and did some tweaking. We listened to ours side by side and his was a bit louder but not by a lot. I'd say "one louder" but not all the way to 11.
In any case, he has heard a bunch of LPMMs and had Supercups. If he doesn't reply here, you should PM him.

Haven't heard the LPMM, but I sure am addicted to my Supercups. However, mine is mostly track driven, and stored at the track. When it was home, the neighbors easily kept track of when I took it out for a drive.

Bruce is right, we did do a small comparision.

Stock exhaust (Blackbird)
Motorsound (Mine)
RSR (Randy)
LPMM (Bruce)

Here is the link

Next time we'll have to do "fly-bys" at WOT and deceleration too.
