Add to the mix, possible cocktail bravery (liquid courage) and this is what can happen way too fast.

Still it's sad for their loved ones "RIP gentleman"............ZP44

Yikes. It's not like that's a two-lane country road. They must have been really moving. What a shame.

Two men killed early Saturday morning when their car spun out of control on Interstate 280 in Los Altos have been identified as Larry Lu, 26, of Fremont and Michael Nguyen Luu, 25, of San Jose.
Their 2006 black Porsche was traveling at an unknown speed north of El Monte road at about 2:50 a.m. when Lu apparently lost control on a curve, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Porsche rotated counterclockwise across five lanes before smashing into a tree.

Both men were wearing seat belts, and alcohol or drugs are not suspected in the accident, according to the CHP

I remember a post awhile back where a guy and his friend took the turbo out during his son's birthday party... and didn't come back. All very sad and very avoidable.

Very sad, our thoughts and prayers go out to their families.

According to the emergency crew responding, the vehicle was a C4S.

Drive safe, stay awake.

That's just depressing, I can think of little worse than that. Sometimes we all get a little carried away on the street - but should never get that carried away. Just leave the high speed bravery for the track, damn. Two more families changed forever because of one stupid decision.

Maybe it's a California thing, but where the hell are people finding these freaking trees? Are all the nice roads in CA lined with these widowmakers, or what?

How would you know? Were you there? Do you have some information about the crash that we don't? Who is "Miss Judged"?

Many assumptions on your part. For all that we know, a deer could have run across the highway and the driver tried to avoid it, losing control of his car. Maybe another car clipped him. Who knows??? Wouldn't really matter what kind of car he was driving, would it?
Have some respect for these guy's friends and family. Things like this can happen to anyone, anytime; and they happen all too frequently, perhaps not in Porsches.

That's bad karma. These guys could have wives and children. Friends who no longer get to hang out. Moms and dads who every year on their birthdays won't get to celebrate. If that happened to people I know, I wouldn't tolerate some anonymous person leaving an asinine statement like that on the permanent record of the internet.

It's not about training and bravado, it's about people who no longer are around to live their lives. Who are you/we to judge?

Congratulations on selling your C4S and remodelling your home. Hope you enjoy your new GT3 in safety.
