I did a search and came up with two threads so I figured I'd ask.

Has anyone tried Mothers Power Ball? Does anyone know of any other similar products? My wheels could use a polishing and I wanted to see if there were any users that have used it.

I saw that, the "mini". They also have a "mini md" on their website. Man, it's amazing what they can charge for a cut up nerf softball ain't it? I might go and see if there's a kit or gift set available at kragen.

From what little I know, the Mother's ball has high amounts of ammonia and other chemicals that clean quickly, but also invite further corrosion to happen sooner.

I just bought the mini power ball today at Kragens for $19.99. Im finding that it is working okay, but be careful of the sharp metal heat shields that are inner sides of the rotor. It will cut up the nerf ball. I think it is a decent product but I would not say its a miracle - "man how did I live without it" - type product.

With my Fikse FM-10 polished rims, I get better results by using Wenol red. The mini powerball that I have is still too large to get inbetween the small, narrow areas.

The Flitz polishing type ball is made of felt and much more resilient. I paid $25 but figure it will outlast 10 powerballs.

It depends on how agreesive your polishing needs to be. It's similar to using different polishes on paint. You might need to get more agreesive on oxidized surfaces, or you might just need a more mild, routine polish.

But, to answer the question, I'd use whatever ball you like (or already have) with the one they call, funnily enough, "Trucker’s Blend".

I just use a rag with the Wenol. Works pretty well. If I want to get really crazy and achieve a mirror-like finish, I use a polishing wheel on my drill. I have four wheels for various grades of polish/cleaners, all available from Lowes or HD.

Ok, I went and got a mother's power ball mini. I had to try it. Results are good and my hands don't need to feel the burn of hand rubbing the metal anymore. The power ball and mother's liquid polish did away the light stains that were on the rims (the rims weren't tarnished or anything to begin with) and you can definitly see a difference. The best part of this ball is that it doesn't have an exposed metal nut or bolt in the very front of it- it's clad in rubber or plastic and also has the foam material of the ball surrounding so you don't scratch your rims.

It now only takes a couple minutes per rim instead of who knows how long. I do want to try it with other polishes such as wenol if that stuff isn't too abrasive.

What polish do you use and what watches do you polish? I have a Breitling with a high polished surface which I can probably use any polish that I'd use on my polished hre's, but on other watches that have grain such as Rolex, I don't think I'd want to polish them with anything too abrasive as it may result in losing the grain of the stainless.
