have you checked to see if the door handle is stuck either from the inside or out?

nope, it works from both sides. It's funny because I can hear the drive block system lock the passenger side but not the driver side

hmmm......loose connection in the door? Does the light (on the ds door)blink even though the door doesn't lock?

yes, the light blinks on the driver side

have you checked the lock mechanism from the inside? Take the door panel off and check everything. On the blinking, is it the normal blink or abnormal? IIRC there's supposed to be an abnormal sequence of blinks if the system sees a problem.
