LPMM, UNHOLY SH!T!!!

I feel like I took my 993 to the vet and had its balls put on. Seriously. This is NOT a little difference. I've got crackle if I rev up and let it fall. The whole tone is deeper and more menacing. When I get on it, it positively bellows with a raspy 911 growl. This is how it should have sounded from the factory. :burnout:
Two feet of 2" 316 stainless = $28
Two mufflers welded = $60
By far the best $88 I ever spent!

Leland, I've got to hand it to you, you've made my month.

+1

l got mine yesterday and freaked on how awesome it sounds. I went out to the garage this morning and started it just to make sure it wasn't a dream. Snap, crackle, pop...baby.

Burns stainless is getting a lot of volume from us Rennlisters, two feet at a time.

Do you just use the 304 tubing?

CarmG993 03-10-2007 12:16 AM

Hmmm - I wonder how the LPMM combo DACH combo would sound? As well as what type of gains.

304 is cheaper, but 321 is better. Your choice.

LPMM= Guttural, explosive, demonic, unholy, mellifluous cacophony.
Owner of LPMM modified 993= driving for no reason again, driving with windows down and radio off, grinning obscenely  with foot planted to floor, can't wait to get back into my car.

The scene of the crime...

 Please for the uninitiated, what are you guys talking about that 2 feet of pipe could do? Got any pictures?

grmnxtc 03-11-2007 02:10 PM

Mark, can you post some interior shots of your car... I'm interested in your child seat set up (I've searched, just like to see how others are doing...) Thanks!!!

I put two Cosco High Back Booster seats in the back of my 993 C4S. These were purchased at Wal-Mart for under $50 apiece. The Wal-Mart product number is 002643991. These seats have a very narrow bottom profile that allows them to seat into the space in the back of a 911. Two fit well side by side. The only problem I encountered was that to be pulled very snug into position, the seat belt connector ( where the two pieces of the belt mate together) is pulled partially into the seating area for the child. I wrapped this area with some terry cloth towel to soften the imposition onto my child's back. The end result is a small lump on one side of the seating surface, still comfortable for the child. Besides this minor inconvenience, this style child seat fits perfectly into the car. This problem could be overcome by installing lap belts rather than 3-point harnesses in the rear of the car.

Since installing LPMM's my youngest basically refuses to allow me to leave in the 993 without taking him along. Upon return he regales me with rrrrrrmmmm (upshift) rrrrrrmmmmm (upshift) rrrrrrmmmmmm! Can't say that I blame him.
