My mechanic is pretty convinced that they're a good upgrade, especially so for cars that have monoballs in all the suspension components. And once I took a look at the stock subframe mounts (and all the soft rubber), I became a believer too. Sure there will still be deflection in teh other susp components, but every little bit helps.
I'm not completely sure I'd notice the difference versus a car without them, but I'd still probably do it again.

The blue mounts are different from the Porsche Motorsport mounts that I have, mine are not blue in colour but they do look the same. I had to reorder one last week from Weissach and they called them "cup" mounts.
More importantly....what Red Rooster said, my passenger side mount broke and I did not notice. I have taken the car to the track 2-3 times since it broke (I later remembered a loud noise one day while driving), the car was handling like cr@p and I blamed my poor driving and/or being new to that particular track for seeing those 997TTs being so close to me. Upon a routine turbo inspection I found out the rear subframe mount being broken, this is serious danger. They might not be good for the street afterall? I have to use them unfortunately or else the car won't handle as the suspension geometry changes and improves handling, especially in a decently powered rear wheel drive car..

Viperbob & Guys,
Would your recommend this mod for mainly street use on my narrow body which should have shed 450lbs of weight and which will hopefully be developing 350hp and 450Nm after 9m mods?
Thanks,

I suggest you drive your car first and then decide.
You might of course be recommended to change them, but honestly no 500HP 993TT needs them either for the street. If you feel the rear unstable under WOT even after having sorted out the suspension and alignment settings on your car, you *then* might want to consider this. I guess it all depends how much real torque to the ground you will really be putting.
I would save my money for something else first.

Does anyone have any experience of the Ruf solid subframe mounts?

Are they the same as the others discussed? I was considering these for my road car (993TT) to tie the back down a bit more.
Has anyone fitted them and found the suspension to be much harsher?
I'm probably fitting the Manthey/KW suspension kit at the same time as these.
Thanks for the help

Hello Jean
Thanks for that. Any idea how the prices compare, Motorsports to Ruf?
The Ruf/Motorsports parts seem to be 3 piece against the ERP ones which appear to be 2 piece (although the picture in the catalogue may be confusing).
Ruf appear to suggest these for the road and so I'm considering trying them to see what effect they have (given that I'm changing the rest of the suspension anyway)
What do you think the downsides of running them on the road are (apart from the risk of breaking them)? Will they make the ride noticeably harsher?
Thanks for the help

solid mounts, gt2 mounts, erp mounts and stock mounts...
for a pss9 setup for road and partial track use, what would a fair comparison be?
satisfy my curiosity pleease

The solid mounts will transmit more vibration into the cabin, I have done many suspension mods to my car so I would not be able to tell what part is doing what exactly to the comfort level. I am sure the other Rennlisters who have installed them on a more decent street car can give you better feedback, sorry.
I am on the move so cannot give you the price. Will do so shortly
I still think that on a street car that is not a torque monster you don't need them.
