UPDATE: RS Carpet Kit is in....two words: NOT FUN , and no instructions whatsoever (Don Plumley noted this on his install in a previous post).
RS Door panels are in...a very easy DIY. What is amazing is how incredibly lite the doors feel now when opening and closing them. RS Pulley is also in, as well as the Radio Delete plate.
Pictures tomorrow when I get some energy...

We are going to be putting in a rollbar, Recaros, and Schroth harnesses next week. I'll make sure we take lots of pics. Also Rob had a tough night. So I am sure he'll post more pics later..

Looking good With the electric windows and carpets fitted have you changed the plan to make it an RS clone rather than an RSCS clone?
lack of carpet and trim, really makes the difference in the CS you can feel and hear every noise more, excillerating but ultimately exhausting

This is a great thread and I'm watching it with much interest as I'm doing a similar thing -
although 100 times slower !!!!! This is great stuff.
What I'm really looking forward to is the first on-track video.

Don-
Yes, the carpet was sooooo much fun that I cannot wait to do it again...in another life!
Clubsport-
I liked the look of the RS carpet, so it will be a hybrid of sorts in that regard. As far as the electric windows, they will be replaced SOMEDAY with the manual cranks. I can tell you that the RS Carpet does virtually nothing to lessen the noise as opposed ot a completely stripped interior. The carpet kit from AppBiz is about 4-5mm thick, at the most...more like outdoor patio carpet than something you would expect to go in a car. I can hear every mechanical noise in the book back there, and with the LWF I hear even more from the gearbox. Once I get the exhaust on, it will be interesting to see how it sounds inside the car.
Wayne-
I installed just the RS shift lever and fork, not the tube...although that may happen some day. The RS kit took about an inch off the throw from gear to gear and feels really nice.
The RS package tray will replace the lower row of switches above the shfter when it arrives from Gert.
Next Saturday the seats, harness, roll bar, and fire extinguisher will be installed at ViperBob's...only a 2 hour jaunt from me.

Three Wheelin'
I'm in the same boat as you!
Yesterday I stripped the rear interior, took the seats out, carpet etc... I drove the car today without any carpet and it was LOUD (after a 20 min drive I had a headache!).
I'm not going to leave it like that just to win 2kg. I will isolate it with some kind of dynamat.
My new seats will be installed in the short future (see picture). They are some kind of Recaro Pole positions. I think they came out of a real RS?
Next I'm going to take the heavy amplifier out and a rear wiper delete.
I need to buy a Rs carpet set but I don't find a seller here in Europe?? Maybe somebody knows?
Have a great weekend!
