Default 996 4 Sale. Color? Well you decide if you like it

I tend to stick to the 993's, but my partner in cars just got this yesterday.

2001 Porsche 996 C2 Cabriolet
Hardtop
Color- Orange Pearl (Metal flake in the finish)
Black interior
6 Speed
1 Owner
24,600 Miles
Xenon Lights
Wind deflector
Tires –excellent

I am posting on the 996 forum as well. I have all the option codes, but haven’t deciphered them yet.

288 424 437 438 448 490 501 513 537 551 580 859 896

Look at the pics and you decide. I am sure this was a special order color although it may not be, I have never even seen this color before. I am going on record to say I like the color.

Mike

Nope sorry not my color. For me "orangenROT" says it all. But to each his/her own.

Nice - but I hate the way the hardtop ruins the lines. It just doesn't look right. Prefer the cab with the soft roof, but then this is not as practical if you have harsh weather.
I like the colour (color?).

I just found out on the 996 board that the color is called ZANZIBAR RED according to the 996 guys. I would assume that this was not a special order color. I have heard of it before. I really just know the 993's better. Still I like the "unique" colors.

I have seen that color on a Boxster and a Turbo. I liked it alot in person. I don't think the pics do it justice.

+1. color looks cool, but the hard top looks horrible. in person, the hard tops look even worse: horrible implementation of a good idea.

The pictures did seem to wash out the orange a little bit. It does look better in person.

This is the colour that Peter Robinson (the Autocar magazine foreign editor) ran for 12 months or so back in 2002/3. He had nothing but praise for the car & the colour (but I think he ran a C2 coupe?). I've only seen one in the flesh in the past 5 years so it must be quite rare......

Default THIS is orange

not my car, but it is the same color. This was a "special" color available in 1958 only.

Roche:

Awesome color. The 996 isn't that bright of an orange. It is a pearl paint with a sh*&^ load of metal flake in it. Like I said earlier someone on the 996 board told me the color is Zanzibar Red.

Another +1 for the color. I personally love to see unique colors on P-cars!
