any1 know what an isolator is? for Bilstein HD shocks
had the suspension dialed in on the cab yesterday to slightly higher than rs height. yes... it's finally slammed
but i was a bit miffed when i was told i needed a small (washer like part) called an isolator (by bilstein usa). the part # is: # E4-BOA-0000564
seems the function of it, is to act as a collar that keeps the spring padded/snugged to the shock body. maybe more to it than that, but that's what my limited understanding of it is.
anyone hear of this part before?
& if it's really needed?
btw: my shocks are the one's from gert in belgium.
tia for any pearls on this.

Are you referring to HD rears? - or fronts, or PSS9's? ...
There is a plastic spacer on the small bottom coil of the rear springs as fitted to OEM Munroes: its function is apparently to center the spring on the perch, and avoid contact with the shock body. I left them out on the HD install, as the Bilstein is of larger diameter .... a 'no go' fit.
Perhaps Bilstein have such an 'isolator' ?????

thanks garth ~
yeah... now i remember, there are two (not 4) & they are for the hd rears. they are white plastic.
bilstein does have them in stock ($7)... my understanding is that they come on all u.s.a rears... but are not on the ones from out of country.
really wonder if there is a real noticible function? -or- if it just makes for a cleaner more tailored install. darrin the guy who did my install seems to be quite meticulous...
