Default shipping steering wheel airbag

Guys,

UPS decline to ship the steering wheel and airbag to a fellow
Rennlister that purchased it from me. I was told that I must
have a contract to ship hazardous materials. Uh, what now?

Can anyone give me your experience...

Regards,
Alan

Alan,

I've shipped SW and Airbag in the past... I used FedEx Ground and didn't declare it as a hazardous materials. Good Luck.

Better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.

"What airbag??"

IF you don't want to "talk" to anyone about this... create a UPS or FedEx account online...

Create a waybill and use a "descriptive" name for the shipment.

Package it up and print out the waybill @ home,

Drop package in drop location, or just run into UPS Store/Fed-Ex Kinkos and say... "just dropping this off"...

Done.

Steering wheel is what I put in the description for fedex ground... that's it...

...just do NOT go USPS... ...cause then it's a federal offense and you don't want to mess with that

Th airbag is a UN class 9. So strictly should be declared as hazardous. However, I would just go ahead and ship it as a steering wheel assembly.

Hey Alan,

Don't stress it. I think its pretty clear here on how it could be done. I just want to add that its a good thing you're doing here "paying it forwad" as you're selling this SW w/AB for next to nothing and another member is going to benefit from that. Believe you me the Karma will come back 10 folds.

It's easier to get forgiveness than permission...
