Default Removing the lower drivers A/C vent

I'm hookin up my Valintine One radar detector and running the power cord under the rubber windshield molding down the driver piller to the dash. I need to remove the A/C vent near the drivers door. Anyone ever done this or have a better route for the cord?

I'm trying to make it clean looking and permanent.

Thanks and yes I'm bored....for now...

IIRC remove the piece at the end of the dash (visible only when the door is open)...behind that are some openings that will let you feed the wire through to under the dash. Apologies if this is not exact as I did this a long time ago and I know I did not have to remove my vent. My V1 was installed above the mirror, wire then tucked under the liner and pillar (use a popsicle stick) and under the dash. Remove display is in the ashtray and tap for power into the cab top switch (you can use sunroof power).
