O/T Stolen car survey......is yours yellow?
(Taken off UK web)
Yellow cars are no peril
If you want to scare off car thieves the best way to do it is to copy Noddy - and spray your motor yellow.
Nearly 40 per cent of motorists have had their vehicle nicked or broken into at least once - but only 2 per cent of the robbers went for a yellow car.
In contrast one in four cars that have been targeted are blue, while 22 per cent are red.
The survey also revealed that one in six stolen cars or caravans are taken from right under the owner's nose - outside their house or even parked in their driveway.
Top 10 steals
1. Blue - 25%
2. Red - 22%
3. Silver - 13%
4. White - 10%
5. Black - 8%
6. Green - 7%
7. Grey - 6%
8. Maroon - 4%
9. Gold - 3%
10. Yellow - 2%

Great survey but........ 2% of stolen cars may be yellow, but about 0.00001% of UK cars are yellow. So the 2% does not look so good.
Since 85% of cars are blue, black or silver. I think your relatively low 46% of stolen cars in these colours indicates a lower relative % of these cars being stolen than yellow cars.
Mind you, what colour above fresh yellow is more of an eye-catcher?
(My figures are purely an opinion, not one of the 93.78% statistics made up on the spot!)

How does that compare with the % of all vehicles on the road that are each of those colors? If 25% of the cars on the road are blue and 2% are yellow, there is no greater likelyhood of one color being stolen over the other.

I think it is more along the lines of:
"Of total cars stolen, 25% are blue and 2% are yellow."
However, as Shaun mentions, if that 2% is 90% of the total number of yellow cars, you are still up ****s creak. And then if the 25% is only 2% of blue cars, then you might actually be better off.

Most thieves would go for a more common color
but if the request for parts says Yellow needed then the Yellow car will be gone.
993 thieves don't steal for a joy ride and they are pros at what they do.
The car is usually never found in on piece again.
If you're not the original owner, there's probably an extra key floating around somewhere.
Always add something more than the original alarm system.
I'm sure it's different in the UK.

Heey, Yellow ROCKS
Yellow cars are becoming a bit more common here in New Zealand, but more the pastel type shades that I find a bit less attractive.
The most stolen marque here is probably Subaru of various types, but mainly WRX and Legacy GT of late 90s early 00s vintage.
