Default Rebuilt Engine Question

I recently had my entire engine rebuilt on my 96 C2 Tiptronic. I have noticed that car seems just a little sluggish and my gas mileage has been unusually low at about 10mpg in the city. Pre-rebuid I was at about 13-17mpg in the city and as high as 24mpg on the highway. Is this normal?

Nope. After I rebuilt my engine the gas mileage was the same if not better and the oil consumption is very low. Car should pull just as good if not better. If it was a complete rebuild maybe your rings did not seat well?

How many miles since the rebuild and was it a top-end or the entire engine?

Cheers,

Mike

First I would have to ask what all was replaced for this rebuild?
