Default 993S fair price?

'97 993S, 64k miles, at $48k, does this sound like a reasonable deal?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/207412545.html

Thanks.

If it is a clean car and passes a thorough PPI, buy it. Vesuvio rocks!

Default Don't know if it is still avaliable. But there was one with 33K for $52.5K

Don't know if it is still avaliable but I look at one in the bay area private seller a week ago. I think same color (purpleish). For sure show room condition! 1997. 2nd owner. Dealer service. I think ideal if you are looking for this one (this color and a cs2) and the price is in your range. It was advertiesed in CL, but may have expired.

If serious pm me and I will see if it is still aviable.

Just want to spread the joy.

So I went and checked out this car. It's got some curb rash, vibration at around 70mph, high clutch engagement point, mismatch front/rear tires, other than that the car looks good. Thanks for your feedback.

Was it lowered and did it have full leather?

TIA

$48K for 64Kmiles is too rich IMO, unless this car is in excellent
condition. From your description, it doesnt appear so. Pics?
Vesuvio is a wicked colour; good luck.

Sounds like a candidate for a new clutch. Curb rash and mis-matched tires sounds like someone who doesn't know/care much. I'd be wondering what else is jury-rigged. If there are full records (not just the stamp in the service book, but FULL records for EVERYTHING, including the purchase of the mis-matched tires) I'd be scrutinizing them for any missing service or other signs of neglect.

I'm thinking low 40's at most, IMHO

Thanks for your feedback. The car looks to be in good condition and clean. No it is not lowered and I dont think it has full leather. The owner does have a full record - I don't think she is neglecting the car, just not very good at parking maybe. She doesnt know N-spec tires for example.

Sounds like I should lower my offer or look elsewhere then?

On the other hand, I just found a '96 targa in San Diego. Carfax looks clean. Who can recommend a good independent shop there for an inspection?

How many Valet parking guys know this car is 7.5 centimeters wider at the rear from each side? RARE

I hope you do not mean mismatched sizes, because front normally is 225/40/zr18 and rear 285/30/zr18 that is normal

If different brand, this is very common. You go to the dealer with a damaged sidewall
he offers you momentarily a pair of used half-life tires of a different brand until you purchase new ones.
This is tolerated at Porsche dealers and not uncommon.

RARE. You might have a good deal slipping under your feet.

I would check the car thoroughly, and make an offer.
This car is very rare. Only 262 Carrera S Vesuvio were shipped to the US for '97 and '98
Mileage is very normal, check how many previous REAL owners.
I wish I was in your area (not 10000 miles away) to check it with you.

No, not mismatched sizes. Just different brands for the front axle v.s. rear.

I doubt this was the dealer's making cauz none of these tires are Porsche N-spec tires.

I actually just passed on the carlargely based on the feedbacks I got here. Yes I know the color is rare; I'll just have to practice my patience. I was trying to find a MKII GT3 when I start off anyways.
