source for bilstein hd's??
 

I can't get in touch with viperbob and carnewal's prices are not competitive with the exchange rate...so does anyone have another source??

Yeah, I just bought a set from Shox.com. No offense to the many sponsors, but they answered the questions the right way, had them in stock and shipped same-day even with a PM order. The price was good, the shipping was cheap, no complaints.

Not sure how you say Carnewal is not competitive, though. They charge €895 including shipping, which is just about the same as Shox.com.

Are you heading back to a "more" stock class?

It is really tough to go back. I am very used to the 250 front and 450 rear springs on the PSS9s as well as the ability to dial in full stiff for the track (In most cases). If I went to Bilstein HD, in order to downgrade to a lower class, I'd have to go to M030 (RoW) springs, which are 150 and 300. I didn't want to do that after much pondering. In addition I'd have to take off my 993RS tail, and probably the Big Reds. No way would I do this. So I just trudge along in Production Class, with 3 class points and 10 more to go in the class if I want to delete my bank account.

In closing, I have just finished 3 days at Laguna Seca with Porsche Owners Club. With the PSS9s, TRG sways set in the middle, car lowered, corner balanced and aligned, rear bump steer (kinematic toe) optimized, Hankook Z214 tires, my car's set up seems perfect. I just can't go backwards.

Also, do the other places give you the extra threads on the front shocks? IIRC Gert was the place for that if you wanted the extra adjustability... is that still true?

Unless you get a set that were sitting on a shelf for years, they ALL have the extended threads.

I just ordered from Shox.com. They should arrive on Monday. We'll see if they put together the parts I spec's (965 springs and HD shocks). Price beat anyone I was able to check online so, good enough for now. The amount of time I spent trying to save $20 was lost in waisted time so I just stopped and got the parts from the same place. I'll post about my experience good/bad but so far it was fast shipping, I hada UPS tacking number within hours and the parts were on the way not long after ($1060 w/shipping to WA for H&R Springs and HD shocks if anyone is wondering what it cost me).

Not exactly true. The extended front thread shocks have only started shipping to the US a little over a year ago. They have also been in limited supply. Most dealers do not even knoe they are available or what the diffs are. Couple that with the fact that Bilstein STILL imports and sells the older non-extended thread units. So when you order, you better order from a place that knows what they are doing.

OK. I was told it's and old stock/new stock thing, but if you've actually seen them...

Last evening (early) I ordered from Gert (Carnewal) the set of Bilstein HD's w/ extended threads and the Euro M030 springs.
This AM I had a FedEx tracking number but I have yet to check for delivery time. I'll update this thread when the pkg. arrives. Per a previous email the price is 1195 Euro, shipping included.

If you get what you want that $1090 price is outstanding. I do see on Carnewal's site your H&R setup is 1050 Euro so the H&R's are a little cheaper than the Euro M030 springs.
Update: With the thread extensions Gert's H&R setup is 1150 Euro.

I never even know there was an extended thread version of the front shocks until after I'd ordered and then read this thread... :banghead: Live and learn... (just like the Fabspeed debacle.. live and learn).

Guys...I debated where to get them from, and at the end got mine from VIPER BOB, dollars are important but also more important is the value that we get from this site.
Viper Bob has always contribuited his knowledge and wisdom to help all of us, specially for Canadians Viper Bob has been a good way of buying stuff.

Unless he is not in the business anylonger, no one should consider buying from him or any other sponsor, I'm confident that if you call these sponsor up and share the price that you got from other people with them they will match it.

If you dont think tthis site is valuable, just call your Service adviser at the local stealer and ask them to give you advise from the Porsche Tech and see what you get.
