All right - who started this craziness anyway?
Me and my fifth kid in red at Mosport...
And my brood (4 of them) which I'll never fit entirely in the car - but I can get three in - which means I'll never be able to fit in a rollcage
Awesome bunch...

What kind of bmw is that with the cage and all track ready? I've often thought an M-coupe would make a great track car.
There's a very very nice story behind that photo. I'd been to a couple of PCA DE events, but, to be honest, I don't feel like I fit in with the crowd that shows up there - I mean with their totally tricked out track cars, spending oodles of cash (I'm just not in that bracket ). So, I was invited to join the BMW Car Club here in Ontario, and I signed up for the BMW Hospitality at the ALMS race on Labour Day weekend at Mosport. As part of the hospitality, BMW (and more specifically the chief instructor for the club) took us for a tour of some BMW race teams. One of those teams was BimmerWorld (http://www.bimmerworldracing.com/data/index.html). My daughter told me that she wanted to be a race car driver - and while talking with Seth Thomas (one of the drivers) we told him she wanted to drive racecars. So Seth proceeded to ask Olivia if she wanted a complete detailed tour of his race-car, which he so generously did. Another car club member took the photo that you see, and told me that he would send me a copy via e-mail. The next day, however, we were late arriving at Mosport and missed the race for Seth and BimmerWorld. But the car club member tracked Olivia and me down, and gave Olivia her own copy of the photo, signed by Seth Thomas which says "To Olivia, the best future driver. All the best." - Olivia was beside herself - and it was then that I found I had to go to the BMW DE event - the people were outstanding. The BMW club, by the way, makes no stipulation on the type of car you can bring to events or that you must own - I owned only a VW and a 993 (although now I have an '88 M6), yet they welcomed me with open arms. (In fact, one guy showed up in a rented Golf - for his sake he's lucky he didn't wreck it!!) Very cool...
