Aloha,
Sorry to chime in on the 993 forum but I did a search on Maui and this thread came up. I am relocating from Socal to Maui with my modified 997 turbo. I did some research and there is 1 Porsche mechanic on Maui. A friend has a 991 turbo S and told me about the this shop. I currently run E-85 but found out there is none on the island but I can switch my tune to several types of fuel. I have several friends there and have been to Maui often, Looking forward to my soon to be new home

I lived on Maui for 11 years and the only thing that sucks is the max speed limit is like 45 MPH on 99.9% of the roads. My Neighbor had a Ferrari 355 and a Lambo SV and they were totally useless. Also, all the public parking places are super tiny. This mean every time you park your car in public you come back to a new dent. Most people are driving a rental car and are not familiar with the size / weight of their rental door. Or just don't give a damn. Just my .02.

Lopaka,
Thanks for the information and I do agree on what you said. The car is defiantly not my daily driver and I have been to the island over 50 times and have lots of friends there. To include professional skateboarders that have shown me some amazing roads , twisty and freshly paved roads. I am not looking to be a speed demon but a spirted drive on some twisty roads will defiantly happen.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time on the islands (every year for 15 years now), and as a car enthusiast if I were going to pick and island to live on it’d definitely be the Big Island. More space, great roads, and plenty of shops/mechanics. I’m surprised I don’t hear about people visiting the Big Island more often... Kauai is gorgeous, love it, but it’s so tiny!

Maui update, My turbo made it safe. Found a good group of guys at a local cars and coffee event, SCCA racing and a bid exotic car meet. Freshly paved roads and some amazing twisty roads. Plenty of road to drive and much more of a car culture than I was expecting. Also met the local mechanic person...
