Question Newbie Stick Shift Removal /Swap Question

Hi Everyone,

Can someone please let me know how to remove the existing oem stick shift. I purchased a carbon fiber version and would like to replace the old shifter.

Thanks so much

I assume you mean the ****/boot - not the shift lever?

If just the ****/boot, you release the left side of the boot by pressing straight down, the right side then pulls out. The **** is just rubber friction - pull up hard.

actually, there is a clip that holds the **** in place. i would pry it back a bit and then lift off the ****. it might also be easier to take off the whole console thing (i did it this past weekend it was pretty easy: just a few screws to take out)

And when you pull up hard don't lean any part of your body (especially your face) over the ****.

I used to LARGE screwdrivers . . . 1 on each side . . . to pry the **** up and off once the boot was realeased . . . go slow . . . use a steady force and you shouldn't have a problem . . . and yes . . . keep your face away from the screwdrivers too.

I put a vice grip on the metal shift arm under the boot and below the **** and and used a pry bar between the vice grip and the underside of the ****. Like butta.
