Won Ebay car - what to do next!!!
I can't believe it. Looks like I put in a bid on a 95 993 on ebay and won it.

I am now looking on what to do next?
What's your advice? Can anyone suggest a PPI place in Portland, OR?
thanks,
anthony

Seems like a good deal, but I hate to tell you that per the agreement of the auction, you own the car regarless of the PPI. The only way out is if it was misrepresented, and omission is not misrepresentation if you didn't ask.
That said, it sounds like a nice car.

That is an EXCELLENT deal. A nice bone stock (but for H&R springs and HD shocks) C4. 86K miles is fine in most cases and that seems to be below the market value by a couple grand.
Nice job.
I want a C4 coupe for winter driving. Yours would have been just the thing.

NO I have been stood up on a car purchase on ebay (not much you can do about deadbeat bidders it seems)
...so you can walk away now and do nothing or take the car and hope all is good after you own it!

I have to agree with the other guys. A PPI at this point is irrelevant. You might as well arrange for shipping and cross your fingers. Once you get the car in Texas take it to your local shop and have a PPI performed so you will know if it has any pending issues that you have to address right away. If you are lucky you will not have any. Known issues for this car with this kind of milage would be:
1. Steering Rack leaks.( 2K to have a shop do it)
2. Worn clutch (2-3K to have a shop do it)
3. Wiring Harness Recall (free at your local Por$che Dealer)
4. Worn Valve Guides (can really only be determined by oil consumption)
5. Windshield rattle (easy fix DIY)
6. Collapsed Hydraulic Adjusters ($400 to DIY all 12 including new seals)
7. Split Spoiler Wall ($90 DIY)
8. Rear Spoiler Grind ( $15 DIY new bearing)
9. New plug wires if not done at 60K ($400)
These are the main ones. Hopefully some or all of these have been done already. If not they are not show stoppers and you can do them one at a time.
Good luck!!

Congrats! Looks like a great deal on a nice looking car! The interior color is somewhat rare and compliments the exterior color, me thinks..
Even if you hit some repair bills down the road, you should still be bucks-ahead

Well, you already bought it, but the price is certainly right.

Thanks for the comments. I love the color combo. I am debating whether to arrange shipping or driving it back.
My biggest question is what is the best and safest way to arrange payment and such?
And how do you get the title? I ran carfax and it showed a lien.

Anthony,
Looks like you got a great deal. Rather than having it shipped to you, consider finding a reputable independant shop near the seller. Pay to have them give it a good once over and a proper two-filter oil change. Then fill it up and drive it home!
When I found my 993, the seller was in Seattle. After a PPI, and another inspection by a Rennlister, I flew to Seattle, checked it out and then drove it home to MD via Canada! That was the best 3,145 miles I've ever driven

That's an excellent deal... and you know what they say about excellent deals.... I would make sure everthing is on the up and up before I sent the $2000 deposit. The low feedback and the fact the account was dormant for a number of years until recently raises eyebrows. Better safe than sorry. Perhaps a fellow rennlister in the area can verify that the car exists before sending the deposit
ps. can you tell I was almost burned before
