Hey everyone. I need to replace my headlight bulbs and while I am at it, replace my lenses. Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do that?
also has anyone ever installed the Litronic head light beam set up like this set?

Grab ur owner's manual. It has as good a description on how to get them out and then change the bulbs as I've see. Easy to follow. It's pretty intuitive once you have it all in your hands. Do one at a time so you have the other there as a model if needed to get the spring that holds the bulb just right.

Rhino, re: changing lenses, IIRC you need to pry the 5-6 black sliding tabs that go around middle of headlamp unit. Just gently lift one at a time and slide front piece forward, you should eventually end up with the pieces separated. Assume you have another front to slide back on. Have not just replaced lens - not sure if can be done but no expert. good luck

If you don't have litronic headlights, I highly recommend looking into the vertex HID kit. We had a group buy going a while back and for $225 the kit transforms night driving. The kit is plug and play, no wires to cut and it comes with all the necessary parts\grommets. Do a search and you'll see the information. Charles at Vertex is the guy to talk to.

The DIY on Robin's site covers lens replacement and it as described above with one addition: Two tabs on each headlight are sealed\melted and these need to be cut in order to remove the lense.

Also I recommend getting some 3m protective film for the lenses. Should keep these new lenses looking new!

One of the tabs will have a "weld" spot on it, but don't worry, just pry it out and it'll come loose. While you're in there, clean the reflectors. It does wonders, I cut up small pieces of microfiber and soaked them in Stoners Invisible Glass. Be careful as its been reported that the reflector coating sometimes comes off on older cars. Mine were in good shape.

One other tip: get the new gaskets too. They fit in the headlight housing, are about $5 each, and help seat the new lense better.

Hey I forget to mention the best price for new lenses is usually at www.autohausaz.com. I think they were $56 each and they came with the new gaskets. They had good customer service as well. I ordered a few parts and they had to come from different warehouses (one in cali, i think) but everything came in 2 days without a hitch.

I have no affiliation with vertex our autohaus just a satisfied customer.

Go with the e-bay litronics. Best bang for the buck mod you can do!

I just checked in to the site and found all of this information you all posted. thanks for taking the time. Someone also suggested PIAA's bulbs. Any reccomendations on these and what power watt level should I look at? How do they compare if at all to Litronics? Also is there a differnece between Litronic and Xeon?

I got a set of used Litronics for about $800. (Litronics are xenon but low beams only; the high beams are the same as yours. "Bixenon" are xenon both high and low.) I wouldn't say they are the equivalent of a modern bixenon system but they ARE a big improvement. I am sure the aftermarket Vertex is the same but for the $500 difference in price I prefer OEM. PIAA bulb are just colored halogens and usually over watted (sp?). I replaced my halogens with silver stars. They seem whiter, but they are no xenons. Xenons are taylor made for our cars because of the projector lens Porsche built in for low beams. Because of this, halogens aren't that bright. I usually run with the fog lights to make up for the difference.
