Skip is right. "Full leather" (IMHO) means at least leather dash, etc. *No* non-turbo US cars come standard with that.

But there's really no such term as "full leather" since you could order any combination of leather options you want. But the fact remains, non-turbo US cars don't have any of these leather options standard. (Note- there are a few things that are *always* leather, such as the upper door trim piece, steering wheel, and seating surface, but that's beside the point).

Turbos came standard with full leather.

If the turbos came with full leather, exactly which pieces on the turbo is actually leather? I thought the full leather also included leather door handles and doorpocket lid with stiching? Only the top part of the door (the extension of the dash on the doors) are vinyl (or at least without stiching). I guess there are many different sorts of "leather packages". I understand that you guys are positive that this wasn't standard on the US spec C4S. Would be nice if a ROW C4S owner could also chime in?? Thanks guys

Turbo does have leather door handles and door pocket lids. There were leather options in addition to full leather, such as leather-covered air vents, but those were part of the Exclusiv catalog, I believe. There have always been additional, small leather options in addition to the "full leather" package.

Sorry for going on about this but does someone have a picture of the leather-covered air vents and other leather exclusive options?

If you want an example of how sick it can be, browse some early posts where people show their equipment lists on the 997TT forum, you'll be shocked. Or, go to the Porsche website and configure and new car. There's billions of configurations as far as leather and CF go.

Ok thanks but I was thinking more in the line of the 993 interior leather trim. It seems many people have their vinyl dashboards recovered in leather and I was wondering if the center airvents also have the french seems around them or if that was an option?

My C2S shows "supple leather front and rear" as an option ($398). The whole interior is leather, except the top of the dash. The part of the dash that faces the driver is a special grained leather that was standard in the "S" cars, and the part of the dash behind/around the gauges is also leather.

My ROW 97 C4S has a full leather interior. Option codes list supple leather seats on my car but nothing about full leather so I guess that others have suggested ROW C4S's came standard with that spec.

All New Zealand 4S's had full leather (dash, headlining etc) as standard.
At the time, they were the top line model, surpassed only by the TT. Quite exclusive here with only around 15 or so sold new. There have been subsequent used imports, but still pretty rare.

Hard to see well but can anyone see other unique option in my picture?
