Street/Track 993 3.8 on EBay
Ebay 3.8 993
Hey there. I'm interested in this one. Does anyone know this car? As the description reads he's an instructor for his local PCA chapter.
Any thoughts on what to consider for a 3.8? I'd buy the car for my daily and track usage.
Comments are appreciated. I hope no one buys this until I get a change too look at it.
EDIT: Sorry if this car has been kicked around. I went back a few pages.

I guess the difference being 20 minute sessions vs. non-stop for an hour or 2 or 4 or ????

i have no problem with a car that has been to DE - provided its well taken care of and the maintance is aggressive and pre-emptive. Usually DE enthusiasts are very dilligent in doing so.

I think a lot of people don't realize this and just fear DE cars thinking 'abuse' instead of just driven harder than normal street. But yes indeed, we recheck a lot after any DE *(up on a lift check and not just walk around visual)
..PLUS DEer's tend to do MORE brake flush 'n fills and MORE oil changes and of course more tire changes/alignment checks, etc.

I think that car was a good buy at the 38K buy it now price.....I'd add an additional 10% for this car's low mileage making this a steal.
Ok, second part was my ode to Bruce Anderson's market report in Excellence. I have 50K into my car w/o the 3.8 kit.

yes indeed.. When I think front clip, I think a full front that was sawed off and some guy welding it back onto another car (I know that's a crude view but that's the image in my mind)

However, DE's are not friendly on the mechanics of the car either...

I haven't bought it yet. Trying to coordinate the PPI for this week. Maybe at PAR since Rennwerke is his home shop I'd like an unbiased opinion. Formula Motorsports is in the city so he prefers not to drive in.
Thanks to everyone esp. ceboyd and Otter. Alignment...Engine Work...receipts...what else?

Marcus,
Good luck with this car. It sounds really nice. I'm not worried about the repair. have a shope with the Porsche jig set it up on the frame machine and you can tell if all frame dimensions are within spec.
Looks like a great car for $38k.
