drove a 95 cab...loved it but..........
just finished a test drive with a 95 cab, 60 miles...the exterior and interior were in great shape and the car just had its 60k service...i was impressed how much more quiet the car was at lower rpm than my old 91 cab, where you couldnt even here the stereo at any speed.....i was impressed with teh body ridigity, esp for a 11 year old cab!!! the shift throws were precise, but a little long and the clutch was solid but not too firm....steering feel was good, but not as good as the new boxster or 997...two things i didnt like were the steering wheel up right postion that you have the drive car in and the saggy bottomed seats....the seating position is unique but i could get use to that...but the saggy seats....but previously broken hip and plevis didnt like that at all....it could prevent me from getting a 993 cab,, which would be great convertible fun car....are all the seats saggy from wear, or are sport seats better???could the driver of this car been a heavy weight???? or am i spoiled with modern ergnomically friend, firm supportive seats, with lumbar support added in??? does anyone put in after market seats and at what cost???

I would drive a different Cab if I were you, before you decide. Mine is a 96 with 48K miles and doesn't have saggy seats.
Did the Cab you drove had the "perforated" leather or the "supple" leather?

"Steering wheel upright position"???
"Seating position is unique"???
And you say you had a '91 cab? C'mon, stop lying and 'fess up - it wasn't a 911! They haven't changed that much - my opinion based on previous '76 and '84 911 ownership!

You sound surprised at the driving position and steering wheel position? Yet you owned a '91 964? Nothing changed between the 964 and 993 in terms of driving position!

A number of the guys here are running aftermarket seats and can proably chime in with some costs. I've got the sport seats and really like them. I've driven a couple of p-cars with standard seats also. For me, the sport seat were a big plus. Rather firm but they do hold you in place very well.
The seats in the car you drove sound very worn out for some reason. Possibly a very large previous owner. Not sure but I haven't seen too many cars with what you are referring too as saggy bottom seats. The seats sound like they've got 160K on them rather than 60K. Drive a couple more. Good luck.

This car more than likely has the comfort seat option, which, do present a saggy seat kinda feeling. Sport seats have you sit on them more than in them, if that makes any sense.

I really like the sport seats too . . . just don't like the CRAZY high secondary / after-market prices . . . $2500 up to $5000 or so . . . especially when the cars were available with sport seats as a factory option for under $1000 IIRC.

Also 95 cab with similar mileage, no problem with saggy seats, leather is perforated. Definitely try others, if you're in the Houston area PM me and you can test drive mine.
