Default Who makes Porsche OEM wheels?

Does anyone know who makes the 18" technology wheels, AKA Turbo Twists? Mine are the solid version, not the hollow ones. These were made in Italy. Thanks!

"Technology" wheels have hollow spokes, your solid spokes are "Turbo Look" wheels.

There are two "Speedlines"...Speedline and SAC ("Speedline America Corp). Speedline makes the RS wheels as well as the Gemballas and yes, IIRC they are made in Italy.

"The prior owner must have thought that these were an upgrade to the original wheels. Does that seem right?"
not from a performance standpoint.

The "Alessio" is the name for that rim, made by Speedline. For the record, there are a few variants of this "RS"-type wheel. The original wheel that came on the 993RS was stamped "Speedline" and are rare + very expensive, and NOT the same as the Alessio, though visually very similar. Then there are the lookalikes, like RH and Kinesis' Supercup, the latter being the most similar to the orig RS wheels and the best-looking of the Speedline-types IMHO.

As for "upgrade," that is subjective. I, personally, don't think the turbolooks are an upgrade as they are considerably heavier, but that's just my opinion. They also aren't worth much to sell, so if you refinish them you will be spending money that YOU should enjoy as you will most likely not recoup any of your cost. Better off to try to just sell them as is.

One can argue the "Technology" wheels (the hollowspoke version of the "twist" wheel and OE on the TT) is an "upgrade" as it is closer in weight to the 17" Cups ...quite an achievement considering they are 18s and wider by 1". But again, it's still only a good wheel if YOU like how they look. I hope this helps you decide what to do.
