Sweet. 993 supercharged track car on ebay

This is the first supercharged 993 track car I've ever seen. I'm guessing the PO wrecked it since the hood and front fenders are carbon fiber (and ugly too )
Still, probably the most fun you could ever have for $28,600.

Is anyone here convinced of the track reliability of the supercharged motors? 11:1 compression even with low boost seems like a recipe for disaster for repeated track use, at least to my mind (not that I'm an engine expert). I suppose an intercooler and extra oil cooler helps, but does anyone here on rennlist have first-hand experience with tracking these supercharger kits? Any known issues?

That car had been on ebay for months. However, the winning bid on the no reserve auction was the highest I ever saw it get to in the two or three times I watched it before.

I believe the seller was the same guy who sold CP his RUF. He has made quite a business out of buying and selling Porsche in his spare time. Looked at the car and there was no frame damage or any evidence of accidents. Decided against it for several reasons including the fact the owner sold all original parts and the carbon fiber parts (Gt-Racing) did not fit right (especially the front fenders).

Car was advertized forsale by a dealer in the rennist classified section last week too for $32500:

The ebay auction appears to be a dealer (has a ford pickup forsale). The Rennlist forsale contact is the same as the ebay auction's sellers id...

That front bumper is hideous, and the fit is gawd aweful. The comment about the SC being installed 500 miles ago seems like a lie. Just look at it!

Automobile Associates of Canton CT (860-693-0278), has installed several TPC supercharger kits on at least the following vehicles 993, US 964 Cup Car, C2, and 2 older chassis with the later 3.6l engine in it. They are all in various configurations including intercooled and non intercooled and produce from 310-330 rwhp on their Dynapack Dyno. I know 5 of them are tracked regularly and if you pick up a copy of Excellence magazine October issue, one of their cars is in it and discussed.
While I am not a fan of supercharging and have been concerned with the elevated Intake Air Temps, 11:1 compression, and in most cases no intercooler, AA has a good track record of installing them on track cars.
