My speed yellow 993 coupe was built on September 7th 1993, VIN 0178, model year 1994.(Letter R on 10th digit)
Was a Porsche Press car for the introduction of the 993.

I don`t get the numbering system. Porsche AG Stuttgart wrote me I have the 414th 993 built, but it is Nr. 0178? Maybe they didn`t come in numerical order?

Just curious. I noticed a couple of cars with build dates of of July 96 and Sep 96, some listed as 1996 MY and some 1997 MY? Anyone know the logic?

It might be either 1) my typo, 2) the owner's typo, 3) or the fact that most model years transition in the July to Sept timeframe.

I assume you mean a build date of 2/95.??? However, given Porsche's change to a new model, it could be 2/94. Please correct me if it is really 2/94 and not 2/95.

You're missing info.

Build date needs a year between 1994-1998 (note your "04").
What model year?

I can sometimes figure out the model year from the build date. But if the build date is questionable, I can get the info.
