Default Airbag Servicing / Maintenance Intervals

Now that my car is approaching its 10th birthday, is there a maintenance interval for the airbags.

Seems to me that I heard one dealer state that the airbags need to actually be replaced at some point in their life to insure that they actually function when/if a crash occurs. Does anyone know the scoop?

The maintenance interval is every two years which is basically just a system check with a Bosch Hammer, PST2 or PIWIS. Porsche has extended the lifetime to 15 years (was 10 years).
