I've spent considerable time searching the archives and it looks to me like the Britax Starriser booster is the most popular rear seat mounted child booster seat. (The one by Century also seems popular).

Does anyone have a Starriser that they want to sell??

I just built my own. My daughter is 5. I bought some seat cushion foam & black material. It is about 4" thick. This combined with a safety fit on the seat belt, and it's perfect. The lap belt is tight & the shoulder belt is in the perfect position.

All a booster does is raise them up in the seat & guide the shoulder belt, so my cushion insert has the exact same effect. I think it's as safe or safer than some of the child seats I have seen held in w/ a belt.
