While doing that they knocked out the pins that connect to the spoiler module and replaced them in random order. It's amazing my spoiler worked for as long as it did. Clive, wiring diagram in hand, figured this out, put the pins in correctly and voila, spoiler works! I can't tell you how much help Clive was for me today. If I would've taken my car into the dealer, they would have taken me for a ride. Clive, thanks for the help, I owe you one. As Chris says, is this a great place or what? Rennlist, what a resource and what great people!

Thanks again.
I'm having the same issue, as soon as I replace fuse number 37 it blows out. With the control module removed , fuse does not blow. Do you have the wiring diagram or picture you can share for the pins order on the receptacle?

Thanks.

I'm working with an owner that had the same problem - turns out the previous owner did the spoiler mod mentioned here

http://boman993.com/diy-spoiler-module-mod/

and didn't put the pins back correctly. Check your pinout against this:

1 - blank
2 - blank
3 - Blue green
4 - Yellow Green
5 - Brown
6 - Red
7 - Orange
8 - Green
9 - Green Red
10 - Green Black
11 - Brown Green
12 - White Red

as in this pic:

This is what he found which is incorrect.

I don't want to start a new thread since my question is related.

My spoiler goes up and down at the correct speeds. The only thing weird about my spoiler operation is that the rear spoiler switch in the center console won't operate it. Do I just need a new switch? I have checked that it's plugged in.

Cleaned connections and switch with contact cleaner and then dielectric grease. Switch works fine now.

It's uncommon for these switches to fail (like window and seat switches). You can buy a new replacement inexpensively from Suncoast Porsche Parts or Design 911 UK. http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/pt199_...arts-Switches/ https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/993SWITCH.html

Mornin all,

went through the thread since my rear spoiler doesn’t work, but have a different issue.
It won’t work with the button and it won’t work automatic at the right speed.

Previou ma owner had installed a turbo wing (btw Who wants it??)
i purchaed a used stock retractable spoiler (in good conditions) that the body shop (after painting it) plugged to a battery and worked!

Plugged to the car It didn’t!

Fuses are fine.

It looks as though something in the wiring is not working.
Anybody har similar issue?

Unfortunately with electrical I’m very very bad

I would guess that when the PO installed the wing he did something to disable the warning light that would come on without the OEM spoiler there. Below is one example. If you Google and search this site you'll come up with others. I think once you identify which one the PO did and reverse it you should be good to go. And, finding this old post shows you know how to search. Nicely done!

I feel your pain.... electrical issues kick my butt too. It is only though these sites that I keep my head above water.

Good luck and keep up posted.

Check the spoiler control module under passenger side dash. The PO May have disconnected it.

When you install the turbo tail you intentionally disable the mechanism. My car had a wire removed from the junction box shown above. Start there.

Good luck.

Thank you all.
I've just tried to look under the passenger side.
I could see the plug (connected to nothing) but couldn't see any module to connect it to.
Damn.
In your experience is this part easily visible?
I really spent almost half an hour to look around, removed the glovebox door too hoping to gain more room but.......

I guess that until I solve this module issue, checking the harness block.
Is it possible that the car came out of the factory with the aerokit rear wing? in that case there was not mechanism needed. Well actually all the wiring (up to the trunk) is there.....
Is this module expensive?
Was hoping for an easy solution.....
:-(

Very easy to see. Here is the part number.... 964 618 212 00.

And, here is a good thread that shows you what it looks like and where it is....

THANK you all for responses.
I rechecked and I confirm the module isn’t there.
Im attaching a picture I took before.
So my plan is to buy the module and install it. If it doesn’t work I’ll check other threads I’ve see about the harness wires.
Ill keep you posted!

2 quick questions
- the module (rebuilt) costa 353.25$?? Thought it was not that expensive. I’ll check market place if anyone has a second hand one
- once I buy that do I have just to plug it right?

thanks you all again

Yeah it's expensive and used isn't much cheaper. I had mine sent to Ruf in Germany so it activates at a higher speed btw. The USA version goes up and down way too much.
