Default Curb Rash fix?

The only un-disclosed flaw on my newly aquired C2S was a slight amount of curb rash on the right rear twist wheel. Does anyone one have a stealthy fix with out having the wheel removed and sent to someone for the ultimate repair? Color match touch-up paint maybe?

Try this link:

Note the type of wheel!

Congrats on your new 993, btw.

Call some of the car dealers and see if they have a wheel repair guy. I had some paint taken off from tire mounting and one of these guys repaired it with a air brush and it looked great. I just got some curb rash and am planning on taking it to the same guy. I can let you know how it goes if you would like.

There are a few companies in the SF South Bay Area that will fix the wheel for around $100-$125. I had a set of Alpina rims for an old BMW fixed and you would never know that they were fixed. I am sure that there are some in the North Bay Area also.
The place I had used was Wheels America at:

Good luck

There is an old post where someone suggested using a fine point silver marker to touch up small scratches on the turbo wheels. Search on "Staples Silver" and you will find it. If the curb rash is not too bad this method might work for you if you do not want to have the entire wheel refinished.

Rezal, That was a great link. Been toying with the idea of doing a repair myself, now it's a for-sure. This is why I LOVE this place!

OldGuy, I have a tire mounting scuff. It doesn't appear to be down to the metal.
Looks like a clear coat only issue. If it were yours would you sand and spray it with clear or leave it alone?
TIA, Craig

dgetz,

I had two of my wheels done for $95 each from a traveling guy in a van (no he didn't live down by the river). The company was named Wheel magic. I don't know if they go up as far as Napa but you should have a similar guy down by a river near you. PM me if you want more info.

Remembered that at Wheel magic the first guy painted just the outside of the wheel and he painted over some dirt on the inside, then another guy came in and re did it much better. I had forgotten about the first guy, sorry to mislead.

Weidman wheels over in Oroville recetly did an excellent job on a rear technology wheel for me. Not too speedy, but the results are excellent.

You can get enough stuff to do your wheels for like $9 at Kragen. duplicolor stuff including clear coat.
Look in the archives. IIRC it took me $10- 2 hours and 6 beers to do a couple wheels.
