Yeah Saturady was a BAD day. I left the house at 6:40 am to get to Santa Nella to meet with Jim Morton and friends. 28 miles into the trip came upon a 3-car fatal accident on 101 (2 unlucky souls died in that one, so I'm a lucky guy by comparison). Took me 45 minutes to clear the jam. I was late.

Hurrying over there I forgot the famous speed trap at Highway 152. Got tagged by a radar cop with a ticket of 94 in a 65 MPH zone. My 11-99 plate didn't save me. Hope I can do traffic school for this one. I promptly bought a V1 today.

Then I ran out of talent and luck 20 miles from the winery. Luckily I didn't run out of friends. Jim, Brad, Kurt all made sure Melissa and I were fine throughout. They missed their pre-paid BBQs on my account. I could only repay them with a late lunch at McDonalds. I still owe each of them a great big thank you. Then Bob rode to the rescue with his trailer. Can never say enough about Bob.....

The RUF is with Bob, I think she's mechanically sound. I just hope that the body-blow she took is not fatal.

Where I come from they say things come in three's. This was your 3rd so now you are done
I'm thankfull that its only sheetmetal and nothing more. You guys over there are an amazing bunch of people, like most of the 993 ers on this board that I have met over the years. Only good things happen to good people...
My wife and I plan to do another "West Coast Rennlist tour" this summer, like the one you guys hosted for me a year and half ago . Hope to see you there and your beauty back in spec so i can drool again a bit

CP,

You can't believe how everyone at the rumble that knows you and Melissa and your wonderful Ruf were crushed to hear what happened. You had one hell of a bad day. We all wish you the best. We'll look forward to seeing you at some future event... and soon!

Tony,

We're all pulling for you to get that car fixed up and back on the road. I really like EPR Collision in Camarillo. They are an authorized Mercury Insurance repair center, and perhaps other insurance companies as well. They know 993TTs well, and can even match Arena Red when required (don't ask me how I know).

Chuck,

Yes, I use and love my Canon 10D. Way more camera than I need, but I still crave the new 20D. What lenses do you have? These are all done with my Tokina 24-200... inexpensive, heavy, and reasonably sharp. But Alan (and Carlos) can outdo me with a Brownie!

Alan, thanks for the fabulous photos. Keep them coming.

I'm sorry I missed this event, but I had a prior commitment. I'll look forward to the upcoming Malibu runs. My new Fikses need to get out of the garage. Sorry to hear about Pong and Tony, but glad you were able to walk away.

A good body shop in West LA is Golden Hammer. They did a great job fixing the front of my Boxster. I saw their dumpster in the back; it had about the same number of 996 front bumpbers in it as McDonalds has hamburger wrappers in their dumpster.

Wow....awesome pics...thanks for sharing!

I'm really bummed I had to cancel out of this one but work obligations diverted my schedule at the last minute.

Pong, Tony....I'm glad to hear that despite the mishaps, you both made it through okay to drive another day. I hope to join some of you soon on a BAR drive. Jim, keep me posted if you decide to hit the road soon.

Best wishes to all!

Talk about some sweet turbos. My camera was drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

Wow, I didn't get a chance to hit RL this weekend until now.. sorry to hear about the mishaps guys. While its hard to be fit and see your baby less than perfect, like everyone else says.. cars can be fixed or replaced.

Great pics Alan!

Hi Fongster,

Thanks for the great offer. I may take you up on it one day. 25 MPH max I promise. With my luck/cars this year. I can't take any chances.
