Very high. You could buy a nice twin turbo with that money.
Nice car though. |

That price is a joke. You can get a low-mileage 993 twin turbo for less. I can't believe anyone would pay that.

IMHO overpriced. Their claim of increased horsepower is funny (vs. 1996 282hp). Unless I'm out of my mind....they are the exact same horsepower. I do believe that the ECU is different but I'm not sure what that brings the car.
I just bought a 1996 C4S with 11k miles for significantly less money (well over $10K difference). Be patient and shop around....there are plenty of black/black C4S vehicles around....unless you desire the aero kit that comes with this one. "Patience is a virtue worth having"......that and join Rennlist, it's the best money you will ever spend in the Porsche world. |
Very nice car that is worth about $58k, max.

Short time lurker, first time poster :-)
I live in the Seattle area and have seen a lot of cars at Park Place over the years. I've also recently started looking for a 96 to 98 Carrera 4S and have been tracking prices across the US to better orient myself. I agree with the other posters that $64,500 seems to be too high for a 97 model with 20K miles.
A couple of peripherally related questions for the thread: 1. What does everyone think of the cars sold by RPM Sports Cars. Many of them seem to be in the same $65K+ price range as this one at Park Place: http://www.rpmsportscars.com/inven.htm - is RPM a quality dealer? - anybody have a bad experience with them? 2. Does anybody think 993 C4S prices will take a material dip when the new 997 Carrera 4S's come out later this year? - I wonder if it's worth waiting to see the 997 C4S/Turbo before making a bid on a 993 C4S. Thoughts? PS. Rennlist ROCKS! I've been looking at the site for only a few weeks now, but am amazed at the depth of knowledge and quality of insights shared in this forum. |

Holy crap! And I thought I was monitoring a "lot" of sites already :roflmao: Thanks for the additional sources.

All I can say is thank goodness for copy-n-paste:)

- is RPM a quality dealer? I think Ray's prices are a bit on the high side....he thinks alot of his cars and/or there is a market for these things. I've heard from others that he doesn't negotiate much. Do a search and type in RPM...lots of posts on him specifically. I think it will be interesting to see what happens when the 997 C4S comes out. I do think that it will create a slight downward force on the 993 C4S market....but what the hell do I know. I like the 997 but am really a hardcore 993 guy. Folks like me are the ones Ray preys upon ;) |

I hear you. I'm an ultra-hardcore 993 widebody fan myself. I've loved them since they first came out.
I'm mainly just curious to see how the 997 C4S looks - part of me is (probably delusionally) hoping it'll flood the market with 993 C4S cars from owners who are ready to upgrade their vehicles. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on RPM - I remember reading that you looked for a long time before finding your car. I'm girding for a l-o-o-o-n-n-g search for the perfect C4S myself. Congratulations on finally finding your dream car - it's gorgeous, and Polar Silver is my favorite color on the 993! |
