Let the fall begin...

After reading all the posts on suspension upgrades I've decided to give in, and stop fighting myself. The PSS9s go in next week. :D

And so begins the illness...

I'll post pics after they're in.

You won't regret it

"You won't regret it"
didn't someone theorize that your air bags didn't deploy because you had lowered the car? that might make me regret it...

kkim 03-29-2005 11:19 PM

Go for it, John. You'll love the improvement. Be sure to post before/after pics when done.

Good luck!!

You won't regret it. I went with just the Bilstein HDs and wished I would have gone with the PSS9s.

johnwelch 03-30-2005 12:03 PM

I found that the PSS9s were "only" about $400 more, installed. My wife said, "Well, you should get those, then." :D I think I'll keep her...

John,

Agreed, you better keep that girl !! I have the M030 Euro springs and Bilstein HDs like Tony and love the ride, handling and cosmetics. You'll be very happy with the change from stock.

I don't have any before shots, but here are a few afters. If I understand the way folks measure ride height, I'm at 24.5 Front and 25 Rear. Front camber -1 deg 25 min, rear camber -1 deg 55 min.

Wow, is it me or is a lowered 993 even wider looking from the back! Fantastic!

Too true. My exhaust tips are a little beat after 97K miles. I think polished, rather than chromed. Just one more item on the list.

I always thought you wanted the front height 1/2" higher than the front for the proper 1 degree downward rake? It sounds counter intuitive for the front measurement to be higher than the rear for a nose down attitude but I thought it was just the way the measurements worked out.

I have been at 25" rear 25 1/2" front with PSS9 and JIC and had excellent handling.

Maybe it doesn't matter much if you are not tracking the car, though.

John, car looks fantastic!!!! The PSS_9 setup is the way to go.

johnwelch 04-09-2005 08:55 PM

I'm measuring ride height by taking the distance from the fender to the road, through the center cap. Does this agree with your method?
