I said the cost to manufacture the unit originally was $3 to $4. For a DIY type
to modify it, the parts cost would be a few dollars. The key cost is the time
involved. I'm sure many on the forum are capable of determining how to modify
the unit and someone will post it eventually.

If we could document the differences between the stock and RUF spoiler modules, it might very well be a $3-$4 modification for DIY for someone handy with a soldering iron. I would do it in a heartbeat if I knew which components to swap out.
