After 3 hrs of scrubbing my underside....(pics)
Ruf was nice enough to allow me access to my car's underside while it is waiting on calipers to come back from powdercoating...
It doesn't look perfect, but it's better than it was (which was actually pretty clean). The Cosmoline remains a bit here and there, and that will take time to get off.
I have a new-found respect for Rennlisters like R. Laurie w/ the perfect "undersides". It's hard work. And I know it will be dirty again after a couple weeks of driving. But there is a certain satisfaction for seeing the undercarriage gleam like this (for me anyway). I have just cleaned and waxed the wheels also... (3M adhesive remover, then a coat of wax).
Here are a few pics of final product...a couple of a rear, and one of front. Also, I thought you might enjoy a pic of the loaner car Ruf provided while mine is being serviced... (yeah right! )

Hey Jonathan,
Wow... looks good really good! I just have to tell you that you have to do all of this now because in a few months... you won't have a lot of free time. BTW, are those your new rotors?
Again, great job!

by the way, do you want my old rotors (?) they still have some life left in them, but i decided to switch them now with everything off the car... i know u can afford to get your own rotors, but i thought since you track your car a lot you might want these to use up at some point (?) just let me know...

Dear Mr. Sullivan, everybody is entitled to an opinion right? Well here’s mine, the job you did on your underside is unbelievable. That being said I think you need to see a good shrink and go for some counseling, I’m sorry to say, I think your taking this Porsche stuff a little to seriously. Three hours cleaning the UNDERSIDE, give me a break. Don’t know you, at all but come on man get a life.
