Engine removal update ( Happy end!)
I'm proud to announce that at 13:15 GMT my 4s started at the first try
Surprisingly, it ran very nicely. With the battery having been disconnected for almost two and a half month, I taught the ECU would have forget how to make the engine run.
There was a blue smoke coming out of the exhaust during the first minute. Idle was very stable. We let it run in idle for about 45 minutes, inspecting the engine from below. No leak was noticed. I could not resist to play with the throttle...amazing! The engine accelerates just like my bike engine! It seems also that there is no stall issue when letting the engine come back to idle after a peak at high rpm.
The car is now at rest in my garage, and tomorrow I'll inspect the floor to see if there is any leak (I hope not!).
As you see it on the picture, Monique was there to witness that moment.
Unfortunately, it's still snowing outside, the route are salted like a smoked ham...I'll have to be patient before the first "test flight".
I would like to thanks Rennlist, and all of you who gave me the motivation to do the job. Thank you for the support you gave me, in my posts, by PM or e-mail. Your support has been outstanding!!!
And now BEER TIME!!

I know exactly how you feel - after months of parts all over the place, putting the new stuff on, tweaking, cleaning and then stuffing it all back in there and then turning the key!! I of course hooked the alternator up wrong,(my new one came with what appeared to be only 2 connection points) ALL the lights lit up on the dash and white smoke came throught the vents. Put it back together correctly, did a DE just to make sure all the bolts were torqued, and 10k later it is still going great...gotta thank Porsche, Rennlist, workshop manuals, and Mom & Dad...Good job, Toga, great report, and awesome pics throughout. I would guess you are the one with the grease and the bigger smile in the last pic??

Flying Finn, I could think about it as my next project!
