Default Does anyone know what kind of Recaro seats these are?

I think they look great in this 993 turbo...

I find that somem aftermarket seats look too modern or otherwise just dont seem to "go" with the 993 interior... I think these would fit in nicely, particularly with a black interior...

trying to figure what model they are from Recaro...

They look like leather covered SRD's to me, but the photo is cropped in such a way as to not give enough info.

Those are Recaro Sport. Very nice and very much like factory sport seats. I was looking at these before I found my Porsche sport seats. Their Topline version has heat and electric adjustment too. As you see available in leather. The Toplines cost about the same as a pristine set of Sport seats -- around $3k for a set.

The nice thing about Recaros is they made the seats that are in 993s, they make brackets that fit exactly and with the electrically adjusting Topline version of this seat, there is no backrest adjustment **** to interfere with installation.

I think this is the best Recaro choice for a 993 street car -- a high-quality seat with nice controls, even height adjustment, heat, and reasonable to get in and out of.

They look like Recaro Sport "sportline" in leather.

From what I was told by the Recaro dealer, this model Recaro is an aftermarket variant of the seat Recaro did for the Mustang "Cobra" edition.

I gave this seat a lot of consideration but was told to not expect any lower seating position than the stock seat as the Recaro Sport has an electric base for some functions (not forward/back, still need rails) With the electrics comes weight, too.

It's a great seat if you are not looking for more headroom (my issue) and are not looking to save some wieght. It has good support and is comfotable...FWIW.

Regards

dont want to ADD weight... i seem to take care of that with my wasteline a little more each year...

i dont track my car, so not as concerned about big weight reduction, but would ideally not like to add any... do you know how these compare to stock seats (sounds like they may actually add some more weight)...

Jonathon:

I would doubt they would add weight over the stock "comfort" seats. Had the height thing not been an issue, I would have gone for these seats over the Speed (SRD) model in a heartbest!

Now with my quest for even more support, I would love to find the Recaro SPG XL in black leather with yellow deviated stiching, so that I could put one in as the driver's seat only !!!

F:

I've thought about one of those. I am hoping to see one in person sometime...

My car has the full leather option so I am keeping things awefully "Barbarella" (yes I know she had skin tight rubber, but I think that it would be better in leather...) for now. So far, a tasteful yellow stitch here and there...

How abt getting the, find a local shop to trim the outside bolster in leather and yellow stiching? Keep the yellow weave fabric and woohoo....leather to go with your interior and then fabric in the centre to keep your firm in your seat !!!

You just about described what I did with my "Speeds". I had them re-covered locally with Porsche leather, solid edges, perf. inserts. Here's a few pix of my current Recaro Speed seats:

They may also be Recaro Trend or Recaro Style.
As a matter of fact, they look more like those, than Sport, which is an updated SRD.
