Default Do any of you guys run with spacers on your 993?

I have a set of Techart 15mm spacers on the rear of my 993 and I love the way it brings the wheels out to the fenderwell. I'm planning on going with the M030/BHD setup very shortly and was curious if anyone uses spacers with that setup?

Oh and BTW, where is the best (and least expensive) place to pick up the gear for the suspension setup? I already tried searching, but it was hard to decifer the best vendor from multiple posts.

Thanks.

Personally, I would never use spacers.

It moves the fulcrum outboard from your wheel bearings and distributes the load unevenly. I think of spacers as a safety hazard... though Porsche had some on the early 930's. But they were engineered to take the extra stress.

If Viken pipes in, I would bow to his knowledge...

The C2S came on 17in Cup wheels with spacers from the factory. Mine still has the spacers on and has been lowered and corner balanced with no problems - although I am about to have 4mm taken off the spacers to move the rear wheels in as they are currently almost proud of the rear wheel arch...

Default Wheel Spacers

When I bought my 993 it had spacers on the front and rear. My OPC advised to remove the front spacers as it is not recommended by Porsche and does effect handling. The rear spacers have remained as my OPC stated that it would not have any negative effect on handling/wear, are within Porsche specs and of course looks good.

The spacers on the 930 were a bad idea too. The factory setup was so-so on my car, and when I went to aftermarket wheels and spacers, the car ate rear wheel bearings for lunch. The longevity of the rear bearing on those cars was directly related to the size of the spacer, the wheel offset and the contact patch of the tires. ...BTW, don't EVER use spacers that aren't hub-centric- this can be really dangerous!

I currently run 27mm spacers with the 996tt wheels. My mind was put at rest by seeing a 700hp 993tt with spacers which has done over 235mph.
