Speed yellpw is when the car is going less than 150 mph and fly yellow is at all speeds above that.

My car is Fly Yellow. Also known as Ferrari yellow. Less "mustardy" than speed yellow. Bad picture but the cars in the background of my avatar are speed yellow.

Wow- I had no idea there was a 3rd shade of yellow for 993s. I only knew of speed yellow and the pastel yellow.

ESL- do you have any more pics?

Me too! Anyone have pics with the different shades, side by side?

I thought Fly Yellow was a Ferrari color. ESL, what's your paint code?

Could it have been "Color To Sample" option when the car was ordered? Sampled to Ferrari Fly Yellow, for example.

IIRC Fly Yellow was indeed a Ferrari color and had to be custom ordered through Porsche's Exclusive Program...Speed Yellow was a standard color (I think in certain years it was a no-cost color and in other years you had to pay a few Gs for it) that was available as an option.

I would love to get a Fly Yellow TT

Not sure how good this pic is, but here's a FLY (Ferrari Light Yellow) 993 Turbo:

Correct. It's "Non-Metallic Color to Sample" option - $4150.

My 914-6 was painted what I thought was fly yellow. My favorite car color ever. It actually was an early 90's Ford truck color. I've seen newer Ford trucks in similar livery, but haven't checked if it's the same formula.
Viken, thanks for the pic of that TT. Now I have to change my drool-moistened shirt

Here's the FLY turbo Viken posted and then a Speed Yellow C2S below that. As was said earlier Speed Yellow is more mustardy.
