Is it possible to put a spacer on an airbag steering wheel?

Can the 993 steering wheel (airbag) work with a spacer? I'd like to get my seat back further for my legs sake, but my arms are stretched more than I'd like.

I think Porsche has the M018 Option that is a elevated steering wheel hub for 993.

My car does not have M018 option, can I upgrade my steering wheel hub to M018?
