Default Race suit fit

How snugly is a race suit supposed to fit? I received one from Santa, but it seems a little big. How are they supposed to fit?

Check out the sparco web site, they have recommendations about fit.

I have an off-the-rack Sparco Top 5 suit that is a tad on the baggy side. If I went one size smaller, it would be too tight in the crotch. Not good.

I think it's better to have more room so you feel unrestricted and maximize mobility.

IMO, the suit should fit like a pair of sweats. I read somewhere (Jackie Stewart?) that the looser fit was recommended because it has more pockets of air in it.

that's correct.....you want a suit to be slightly baggy. this allows more protection in a worst case scenario, as the air gaps between you and the suit act as insulation from the heat. this may give you an extra few seconds to get out.
