A few updates to my 993
With all of this talk about early Christmas gifts, I thought I would share some of my recent updates. I had been debating/looking for some time the “gearing” issue. As luck would have it, right when I needed to replace my clutch, I came across a G50/21 trans. Of course ViperBob was running a few Christmas specials, and I felt I had to do my part in supporting our Rennlist Sponsors.
After a quick conversation with Bob, I dropped my car off at Devek for a little freshening. The old trans came out, the new G50/21 – LWF - Short Shift Kit went in, new sway bars front and rear(22/21), painted brake calipers (the original black paint was looking bad), and a general look over. After all she’s driven regularly and has over 80k miles on the clock.
After dropping off my son this morning, I took the long way to work. Up to Skyline (local twisty road), down to 280 (freeway), and then through the city streets. The conversion, as many have said before, really does transform the car. The power comes on when you need it, making local hill climbs all that more enjoyable! The car (95) only stalled once, when I came off the freeway a bit too hot and had to stop for a light.
I'd post photos, but the files are a bit too large. Stay tuned.
Happy Holidays-

OK, hopefully these photos post (my first attempt).
David, I picked up the trans from Harald in Germany. He had the unit listed in the Rennlist Classifieds, and luckily it was still available when I inquired. Harald is a great guy, and provided exceptional service/follow up.
