it's pretty pricey. Eric is working on becoming a Rennlist sponsor and will NOT charge more than $550 for everything you just listed!

www.erodmotorsports.com if you wanted to see his website!

Blickie,

I had the Xpel installer do my hood, TT bumper, headlight surrounds and the four inner wheel arches this past spring and spent about $600. Your price is stiff, but not totally wacko.

I would suggest having the installer just do the TT bumper and headlight surrounds. They are murder to do. The hood, rear flares, inner wheel arches (and don't forget side view mirrors) you can easily DIY with the Invincashield kit and save some money.

You didn't say which vendor you are using or where you are located. If you are in a larger metro area there may be two or three to price compare.

Hi Evan,

Hope all is well with you and Kathy (and the zoo).

Brought my car to Cantech in SYR yesterday for fall service. Usual service, plus M030 sway bars (not that I'll ever notice the difference). When done there, I'm going to have a new OEM windshiled installed by a glass shop in SYR that specializes in foreign and sports cars. The couple of chips and "sand-blasting" have driven me nuts since I bought the car. Just couldn't find anyone I trusted to touch it.

Did you go to Jamie's event at WG? I was in Phoenix.

I paid around $800, too. It's not a fantastic bargain price but if the installer is top-notch, it's not too bad. I think some other people have paid close to a grand for the clear bra in some areas.

blickie,

Where do you live? I'm in SoCal and one of the quotes I received was also $800. So, I don't know if it's a geographic thing, or can the quality of installation vary that greatly (i.e. quotes from $800 to $500)?

thanks!

BTW: Eric will fly out to various locations to do 'group' installs... just as long as there are at least 4 people who can co-ordinate getting their cars in one location over a sat-sun weekend!

Right now it looks like he'll be doing a San Fran area install as well as a seperate LA area install weekend

He'll be in San Fran area (Palo Alto) anyway sometime in Jan or Feb for a week with me (depending on our schedules) and can probably schedule something then as well!

just another data point... I paid $900 for the 3M film installed... I knew that this was a little high, but the body shop that did it has an absolutely excellent reputation in Dallas (Stuart's). They did a full installation -- including mirrors, fenders, front,etc... I probably could have shaved off $300 or so from it with another shop, but when I pulled up and saw all the Ferraris and Porsches getting serviced made me feel like my car would be in good hands...

Hey Chris,

Give us a head's as to your schedule, and we'll plan one of our world-famous BAR drive in your honor.

That's a beautiful time to be here as all the hills will be green. I hope to have my RUF back way before then so a hospitality BAR drive will be awesome.

Hey Chris,

I'm interested in getting the Clear-Bra installed on my car. Where in Palo Alto are you going to be doing the installations at?

Thanks,
Scott

Well, I think Eric was hoping to co-ordinate to have everyone meet at one rennlister's home... He needs shelter and good light (oh, and it has to be at least 60 degrees for proper application). (IE WIND= BAD, Direct Sunlight = BAD, rain = Bad, DARK/DIM = BAD ...and < 60 = BAD)
