I thought these were 'popping' because of the routing of the heating element wire? Also thought Porsche came out with a re-route advice note to the Centres?

just a bland thought but are the bulbs in the high stop light incandesent? = heat what about LED replacemts?
i wonder if with polaroid lenses on you could see diffent stress patterns on the glass with and without the brake light on? its my understanding that tempered glass responds pooly to localized stress risers. ive a cab so its no issue[other issues]

You mention tinting. Could there be some link between having tinting and this issue. My first thought would have been accident damage twisting the shell slightly or something else that was causing the glass to not sit perfectly. Do you know if the glass dropped right in or did they have to work to get it to sit flat?
Either way, best of luck.

David
