Who has the most beautiful 993 on here??
There was a thread started like this on the 924/44/68 board so i decided I would start one over here... Mainly because I just want to see a bunch of 993 pics :p
Keep in mind, this isn't a contest, just post your favorite pictures of your cars... |
someone else's rscs

By the way, the numberplate on that red RSCS isn't just for show, the Swedish registration really is "911"
if you like that car, then you might like this photoshopped version (high res is at http://gallery.rennlist.com/wallpaper/album03): http://gallery.rennlist.com/wallpape.../aaf.thumb.jpg |

Rich,
Sorry I can't really give you the measurements. I had the RS slightly lower than the Euro RS specs. The C4S corresponds to the Euro C4S specs. All I can quote are the clearance figures under full load: Euro C2/C4: 3.9 inches Euro C4S: 3.7 inches RS: 3.5 inches |

|
MS, thanks gonna look now.
Oh, and you must look very nice in a bikini yourself my little disciplinarian. It looks like you can fill it out quite nicely indeed. Grrrrrrowl. There is just something about sexy women with Porsches that... well... let's just say it's nice to have you ladies around. The place just seems to smell better with both of you here. |
Adrienne, I always lose my marbles and much more for beautiful women.
|
Hey Riviera, Love that first pic. Check this one out, very similar.
|
Mike those are the Tetons!! Now which pic was I talking about!!??
|
Adrienne, I am just kidding with you. In all honesty, I do think you are a very attractive woman and the same goes for you JoAnne. I enjoy you both and it makes it more fun here with the both of you around. A female perspective is always nice to have in a venue is so predominantly male.
|
Yes of course. All in good fun. And now, as someone earlier so appropriately said, back to the car porn!!
|
Alan you're gonna pass me as "most posts in shortest amount of time champ"
|
Okay MS, did a search and too many threads to go through. Can you tell me the thread name or gimme a link?
|
Paul, you are correct, I was thinking that myself. How's the trailer? I see you have come up for air or you got your computer hooked up in there. I am betting on the latter.
|
Its not going anywhere right now. I am trying to figure out how to get an aircompressor in there next to the big screen TV. The only problem is when you turn it on the compresor drowns out the surround sound. The couches went in nice and now the hot tub install on the roof will be later.
|
|
Here's mine...but of course I could be biase :bigbye: dhttp://forums.rennlist.com/upload/po...compressed.jpg
http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/po...compressed.jpg I am biased a lot just like a proud parent! |
Paul,
Somehow I think there is a bit of truth in some of that. The drowning out of the SS is serious. You may have to put a 500 gallon tank on the roof for air storage or build a soundproof compartment to store it in. Think Paul!!!! All of our enjoyment depends upon it. :roflmao: |

Hal,
Your first arena turbo picture is really a great shot. I could be very effusive but will leave it at that. Na, let me elaborate. The color is outstanding along with the exposure. It is framed beautifully in a great setting. Notice how the brown dirt "line" along the fence at the top of the picture coincides with the angle of the driveway, as defined in the lower left of the picture where the grass meets the concrete, to intersect at some unforeseen horizon on the left of the picture. As the car heads towards that point the eye moves left, and you will note the driveway starts to dip, leaving the subliminal impression of speed... towards that unforeseen connecting point, like a dip in a roller coaster. The car has a slight angle downward that is just enough, again, to create the illusion of speed. Did I mention the color? Look at that those colors pop, wow, with the top of the picture framed in a nice contrasting blue. The color of the driveway is so complimentary to the color of the car that you would think Armani had chosen it. The garlic plant at the front of the car breaks the otherwise similar landscape and, again, draws attention to the downward slope. Notice how the flax plant shows through the front windshield as if there were no windscreen. This draws attention to that area leaving the subconscious mind with a 3 dimensional impression. The plant looks like it is framed as a picture within a picture creating depth. Now, the reflections on the car, well... just look! The lighting is fantastic, note that even the rear spoiler and bumper are lit up as if a reflector panel was shining light on the rear of the car. Also take note of the point of reflection denoted by four "star effect" points on the hip, spoiler, and the ones around the rear window. This draws attention to the sexiest parts of the car. And then there is the shadow under the car, again creating a great effect that is subliminal but frames the arena red while acting as a boarder between the driveway color and the car color. Now... take another look at that shot and you will see what I mean. Hal, great shot. I will also note that there are many great shots here but I wanted to say something about this one in particular. |
Carbon fiber picnic table. Princeton you are stylin dude.

Alan:
I thought a bit more sidewall would provide a softer ride; although I must admit that I really like the Cup wheels on a 993. I think Fred's cab looks great with Cups judging by the pics. You should think about Cups with a blue center.... |
I have thought about it. But too blu me thinks. I sold my cups for the twists and love em. Wish I hadn't sold my cups cause I could have used em for the track, damn. Oh, well.
I really dig your white on white, looks neat. |
Thanks. The Cups have a bit more depth as opposed to the very aero TT's flat face. Overall, I'm happy with them. Although I still have the TTs stacked in the garage.

You saw all that? It's easier for me to just try to concentrate on not shaking the camera too much and hit the correct button. Yeah, I've hit the off button several times when attempting to take a photo. I'm also impressed you know the plant names. I'm always describing them to people as the blue/gray one with the purple thingies or the green one with the long spikey leaves. And....ya didn't like the second photo. Here it is again with MORE COLOR/CONTRAST. Regards, Hal |

Hi Boostid,
sorry for the picture! I apologize for stealing such a beautiful background and make you remember a movie I don't know about . I took the mnmblu compliment about your great picture as an occasion to show it on this forum. That tractor, I took it during my holidays this year. I could not resist to take the picture when I saw the guy with the helmet! My wife was laughing so much, she was unable to take it from the front. I didn't tell you, your car looks wonderful!! Here is the original of that tractor:  |

JP;
Actually, the tractor in my driveway is appropriate. There are times when it would come in handy around the property. I like the way the driver displays his P-car passion with the emblem on the rear of his coat. As to helmets, when I need to climb a tree to top it or other trimming, my wife insists I wear my full-face Simpson. Regards, |
Hal,
Yes I did. I know that sometimes even a blind man can hit a bullseye, It happens to me all the time. It is just that all those elements came together to create a wonderful shot, planned or not. I do like your second picture too but it does not have the magic like the first. The photo gods were on your side for that one. Matt, hmmmm, not sure I understand your post. Thanks for the english lesson though, my mistake, really wasn't thinking or editing my post and besides I went to Beer U, so I'll use that as an excuse. Next time you may want to use red when highlighting my errors, that way I can dredge up old memories of failed exams, oh boy. I guess I better start using the spell checker too or I am really gonna be in trouble. And breaking Phil's balls???? Not me!!! He has been breaking my balls about my affection for the basket handle, all in good fun I might add. I think his off handed comment was indirectly addressed to me in a good natured way. Phil and I are very good buddies and we support and respect each other. Yes, I do change my avatar quite a bit... being in the witness protection program and all... Besides, I get bored, A.D.D., of course. Man cannot live on bread alone. ;) It's like a rotating wallpaper program, keeps me interested. A good natured response from mnmblu. Alan :) Oh, and nels415, Great picture too. Silver is such a great color to photograph, there is no better color for the camera lens. |

Here are some pix :D
Some clean, some dirty. All taken by max911 where the car is happiest. On the track. Since Terry posted pictures of the Rockies, I'll throw in a picture too. Terry, that just seems like an awesome road trip. I would love to do that at some point. |

Nice pic of your car! What's your ride height? Anyway, here are some pics of my car after the PSS9s were installed this week. |
Lookin good Mich, very nice. how does it handle?

You talkin' to me??? You talkin' to me??? I looked for a Mich on some earlier posts and didn't see any, so I'm going to assume you were referring to me! ;) Yes, the car feels great. I hope my back is well enough so I can go to the Streets (11/7/04) and really test it. It looks like there's going to be a strong showing of Rennlisters there, so I really hope I can make it. Rich |
Rich,
I assume old Alan is referring to the lack of the basket handle on the back of your car... so the answer he would expect to hear, is "not too well".... |

This one gets my vote! Iridian Blue with custom order gray interior. Anyone ever seen Iridian Blue before?
|
LeeH,
Nice car. Actually, by pure coincidence, I saw that color for the first time yesterday, when I went up to my Porsche garage and saw a 3.8L 993 C2 in exactly that color... |
Rich,
It's dyslexic fingers, sorry. I got the ich right and that's better than I do most of the time. Get that back ready and let's rumble we need ya there, Mr. Dinero. |
Phil,
Your basket handle envy is showing. |

A little of the Retro looks the best, IMO. Here's my "still in progress project". Please excuse the imperfections.

Hi, I think this might be my 1st post, but here's my new toy. Picked it up a month ago.
http://www.spicytuna.net/terrance/99...s/DSCN2178.JPG |
Hi Terrance,
Welcome to Rennlsit. Evidently, your pic does not show. Th fix, click 'go advabced' below, look for 'manage attachment' box. That will allow you to browse your computer and attach picture file. Try to resize your pic so it's around 70k bites or so. Looking forward to seeing your car. Seto, is that Asian surname by any chance? Thanks. CP |
Yeah, i just noticed that I used the wrong tags. (Post #2).
Hello to a few people on here: Steve A. and Kim. I think that's the 2 people I know here. =) I'm actually a 90% Chinese, 10% Spanish guy with a Japanese/Chinese last name =) |
Kim, you can borrow a spare anytime!
I didn't know I was 993 hunting also until I found this one. haha. Next thing you know, I was driving it home. :bigbye: |
terrence, you know me too. damn, you have lousy memory.
you got car for one month and still haven't gotten 20" wheels, RSR exhasut, large wing, and 3.8 conversion??? what's wrong with you! |
John, forgot about you! =)
I'm gonna have to ask uncle Joe for the wheels and the RS3.8 motor. I think he may have a spare GT2 EVO wing I can use. |
Hey Terrence:
Your car looks great lowered, although I thought it looked better with the white Cups. But, better for me, of course. I can vouch for Terrance, as I bought his white Cup wheels. He's truly a decent guy. |
Thanks Steve. I am on a slow hunt, (and saving money) on a quest to find some "bling" wheels. Fikse or Kinesis cup wheels. not sure which ones!
I think first things first, gotta finish the damn 914 project! |

|
I think Terrance was shopping for this car originally, even though he didn't know it.....and also my contribution, a 100% stock 100,000 miler with the oddball interior I put on another thread when I picked it up last month.
|
Damn you Ken! I knew I found that craigslist post 20 minutes too late.
|
i LOVE that color combo (silver and red). that looks awesome!
|
Since all you posters on this thread love looking at pictures, check out this link:

I can't wait untill the first of the year when I will be buying a nice daily driver and keeping the 993 for nice days..... Or maybe I sell the 993 and get a TT as a daily!!!!;) |

Where can I get a team of people to make my car as shiney as yours!!!!! Can I borrow your team? |
Rich, you should hear Eric's Supercups....now that's nice!!!

Eric's black 'S' is beautiful and hard to top.
Don't you wish they looked like that all the time  http://www.986host.com/albums/GreggT...93_1.sized.jpg |
Alan,
How did you get all the grunge off from the drive down Sat AM? I want one of those filters too. Next time I'll know how to strategically park at this event for the cool photo ops. It helps not to get there an hour late. Thanks for the shot, I really didn't take any at the winery since I buried my car in the front corner of the lot without company. |
Alan,
Thank you for the posting the pic of my car. The car looks good in person but your photos make it look great! |
Scott, I really liked looking at your 4S at the Rumble!
Wow, I love these cars!! I think EVERYONE has the best looking car! |
They are sweet to look at. I never tire of looking at our cars. Scott, I couldn't resist, cause I love your car so much. Eric, a bit of photoshop will clean it up, literally, detail work. :) Steve, I have always admired your car too. And your images!
Now here is my baby |
Gregg T, cool front bumper. What is it?
|
Jools, after you wait 6 mos. and pay $26k for an accident fix, the body shop guys tend to shine it up real good when you get the car back.
|
Late but one more...
|
Does this AWD count?
I know this is not a pic of my 993, but it is my daily driver and I figure they are both AWD with similar HP, except this one has a TRD SC and tows the Zodiac.
The 993 is getting mods so soon she will rise again from her ashes...... :) |

Thanks Arrwin- I had clears on my 964 and they looked good, but...
My girlfriend is asian (hence gay dog..) and she was teasing me already about having the car too rice-boy! She was like, "you gonna get clear corners now?" So in protest, I'm leaving them yellow.. actually, after a bit of research, the Audi RS6 corners fit, & there is a tuner who makes them in black... I just have to locate the source!! Coleman, |

Thanks... there are quite a few 993's on the market in Singapore now mainly because they are coming up on the 10-year COE expiry... that is if you are not fussed whether the car is a Tiptronic or manual. I waited and shopped around for almost 3-years before i found my C4 because i was looking for a manual car.

Some great pics of some beautiful cars on this thread. I'm officially attaching my pic to this thread even though I'm a little partial to my own car. :D

At 7990 feet, I have probably one of the highest. Not only does Utah produce the best snow on earth but some of best 993's flock here!

Cannot resist, here is a picture of my 993

i like the look of those turbo s ducts. what color are they (silver)?
|
2 Attachment(s)
OK, I can't resist either as this thread seems to keep going.
|
The ducts are silver rather than body colour, as I felt it looked better.
|
All I can say is WOW! You all have such beautiful cars. Although I am new to this list and Porsches in general, I have come to the conclusion that the 993 (widebodies in particular) has to be one of the most attractive cars that has ever been manufactured!
|
this has to be one of the greatest threads ever! you gotta love the rear of our cars. i'll update the photos once i get the car down to a lower elevation. everytime i get in it my nose bleeds. but no matter what, all 993's are beautiful.

Right now, I have my "collectible" bat phone in our house so it can stay safe and sound for the museum. :p |

How did you get that perspective for your photo? Nicely done. [edit] - for that matter, how'd you get the photo in your avatar? Is it yours? |
Thank you. That picture uses a strategically placed ladder on top of a brick garbage container. Yes, the avatar is a picture of my car. Same location, in fact.
|
Very nice, again.
The avatar--is the motion blur from post-processing (i.e. Photoshop)? |

That Avatar photo has not been touched by anything such as Photoshop. No blurring at all. It is a camera mounted to a swivel pod, attached to the headlight and the shutter was held open for a set duration while moving.
Here is another one: |
Hi jrb964,
What wing do you have on your car? It looks great!!! |

Not the best looking 993 on this board by any stretch, but I really like this picture:
|
Ok someone please use your marketing smarts and put all of these incredible pictures in a book and sell me a copy! I just spent two hours looking over every picture and saved some of them for my desk top. Thank you for making my day!
I will be taking pictures of mine and posting also Rhino |
I know a bunch of us did send Adrian pictures for his 993 book. We'll see if he makes us famous. :)

I do!
Beautiful and beautifully affordable, that is. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT |

Wow.. cool color, cool car! |

This would easily be the nicest one, but unfortunately I cannot show you the whole car, since my brother's extremely ugly beater (White, rusty MB Stationwagon from 1987) was standing behind it to the right and completely ruined the view. Anyway, a nice autumn day in Sweden...

ECobb, what wheels are those? Gemballa? Size/offset? Verrrry nice.

Dr. No, Thanks for the compliments. Those are Roock "Competition" model made in Germany (by Ronal), 2-piece polished cast aluminum 18x8.5 and 18x10 wheels, rear ET 50 and fronts ET 45. Actually, I don't have those wheels mounted any more. Back in Feb, I made a trade with another Rennlister in response to my offer (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/188082-wheel-swap-offer-back-on-the-table.html and now sport factory hollow spoke 18"s. But I did think those Roocks really had a great look. The car now better reflects my "old fart" image. :surr: |
Well, I might as well throw mine in here. I think she's a real beauty.

Now that my RUF is new/improved, I hope it is deserving of this thread. Enjoy. CP |

Pong, your car looks impressive, the change was radical! BTW sorry to see what happened to your RPM guage and how it got sideways :D There are many nice kits that will keep your digital display at the bottom where it should be, while having the 7K at the 12:00 position and straight...:p
Vince, you have maybe one of the most beautiful TTs out there IMO, but after 3 years, you REALLY need to post a different picture and let us see fully your car!! :D Going to take my pill now.. |
Sorry Vince I have to agree with Jean......Your car looks AWESOME but we want to see more. 360 degree angles and your interior. :bigbye:

Still waiting
Well after this episode... https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/210541-bounced-off-the-guardrail.html
I got the car back about the 3rd week in August 05. About 2 wks later was back in my riding looking and feeling good. As I approached a stop light, an older fellow in a Cadillac CTS V came up 2 lanes over. Hum i thought... I wonder if hes gonna get on it. Light turns green i go he goes, not really hard thought.... accelerate gradually faster through 1st great... hit second....glance over he doesnt hit it hard... and then finally i see him jump on it... I jump on it, go to power shift into third gear......nothing...... im like wtf? Try to put it in third again barely get it in gear... by now the cadi sees me slow down and proceeds down the road in a normal manner.. I get to a stop light it turns green im doing about 35 struggling toget into gear, finally takes 3rd gear again.... The next light I stop, put the clutch in tried every gear ... and would not engage. I get out of my car in the midldle of a busy intersection and pushed it across the intersection to the other side of the street. Pisssssed offf beyond belief... Pushing this car..... Call AAA they come and tow it to Hoen Porsche here in Carlsbad. Turns out I broke the shift fork.... Get a call later and they tell me I need a whole new transmission. $ 10k,,,, are you kidding me? $ 10,000 for a transmission. I literally shiit myself. Well lucky for me when I bought the car I bought an extended warranty. Highly Recomend !!!! They covered all but about $ 800.00. Sweet Im saved.. But wait.... I needed to replace the clutch so i have them go ahead and do that. So my ride has been in the shop since the 3rd week of August waiting for the dealer to calll the warranty company, so they could send out an adjuster. So Hoen had to order the transmission from Germany. They get it 2 wks ago and were about to put it alll together, and noticed that someone had dropped the flywheel, which cracked and chippped some of the teeth off, so they order another one, and it came in Monday of last week. So now Im waiting for the dealer to receive a check from the warranty company, and my service guys calls and updates me. So I ask well how much am i gonna have to pay ... and he replies " Oh uh just under $ 5k." Does that sound a little high for a clutch and an alignment? I mean i should only be paying for parts right? The transmission is already out getting serviced so they shouldnt have to charge me for labor on the clutch?????? What do you guys think? :banghead: |
Parts for clutch from RL vendors should be $1200 and up for NA rs clutch/lwf setup. Don't know about clutch for a turbo.
|
I purchased the RS clutch and LWF from a RL vendor for $1400. Get an itemized list from the dealer of each part, part # and the cost. $5K is way to much. Infact read this link from a reputable mechanic in the Bay area. He discusses what they charge for the same job. Here is the thread: RS clutch and LWF-I finally did it! ( 1 2 3 )

More beauty in the eye of the beholder, mine.
It started a simple C4 when first bought it in October of 2001. Then the illness began and it was treated with the following remedies. OEM Aerokit 1b Euro transmission M030 suspension Strut bar Euro front bumper mods and turn signals Atiwe 3-spoke wheel with airbag The result to me, priceless. I would not trade even up for a 997. But then I like Harleys (owned 4) but not the V-Rod, could all be a sign of my age. |
There is a 993 in her, but you cannot see it.

OK, OK. So this is not REALLY my car. BUT, Günther Chrzanowski was kind enough to let me drive the car on the Circuit Prenois in Dijon last month in between GTP Pirelli Masters races. What a GAS! And yes, I was able to maintain my status as a turtle! It was sure fun though!
Circuit Prenois is the former F1 track for the French Grand Prix. If you want to see what it's like to drive it, check this link out! Toby |
Toby,
That is completely not fair. Way out of bounds for this thread. Gadzooks... that looks like a fun, and what a great looking car. Yipes. You win. |

Very Nice! Is that Pearl white? I had an Audi that was that same color. Never seen it before on a 993. Was that a factory color?
|
...Yes it was a factory color.. it's one of 3 993's TT painted Pearl.
The wheels are Champion 3pc.. painted pearl to match . BTW the Silver 993 racecar isn't mine it's a car i liked when I was at Mid Ohio few years back.. sorry to who ever owns it for posting the pic without asking. but it's a great car. |
Very unique. Never knew Porsche had that color. Thanks for posting the pics. Do you know who owns the other 2 pearls?
|
I love the Pearl!

No, I sure don't. It would be neat to know though... I am sure if I did enough homework I could find out..

It's well and truly '06 here down under, and I thought I would start the year by posting some pics of mine and a friends' 993s... Hi everybody, first of all I want to apologize in advance for my bad level of English...
I registered yesterday and come from a French forum called http://www.club911.net. I live in Switzerland and own this 993 C2 updated to 993 RS Clubsport. The upgrade is still ongoing and I plan to finish before March. Still waiting for BBS Motorsport rims ;) Here are some pics of my baby: http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/9707/dsc004124ze.jpg http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/3277/dsc004428bh.jpg For the rest I removed useless stuff from the inside and put some RS parts on it. Power is now 320hp and weight is around 1280 kilos (count on you to make the conversion ;)). The aim of this frog is to be driven only on racing tracks (French ones as there are none in Switzerland). Thanks in advance for your indulgence ;) CUL |
Very nice, Nono. Welcome.
