anyone want to talk more about this argo guy being banned?
i found this guy to be fairly ammusing, as one of his more classic threads (caliper painting) has been recently referred to. reminds me of the episode where jerry and kramer get banned from the fruit stand!
there needs to be more bannings.

Is there a possibility that he could get back onto this board by simply using another name? I would think that there is that remote possibility he will be back under a new handle.

Actually, I'm still very curious to know what he was banned for.
I hope it's not because he used strong words when he expressed his opinion or did not share somebody's else aesthetic values...
Simply because this is Porsche 993 forum, not "how-to-please-everybody-around-you" one.

I think is was the double flip off graphic that got him banned.
He did have some points but the each thread became so damn tedious.

Alex - I too could share the ugly PM's sent my way - I think originating from that same post on caliper painting...
He got a second chance, and didn't learn that his opinion is his, and that being a complete jerk about something as trivial as painting calipers or doing some photoshop work for some other members is not worth getting so worked up about.
for me, it is a nicer place, this rennlist...

WildWillard,
was that one-way or two-way communication? If you didn't like his opinion why you felt you have to make him change it? Or you felt you're being attacked and you tried to defend your point of view? Why to bother?
I would understand people getting upset if all those long flamewars were around some real technical issue, where there is only one truth - like how do you put new suspension on 993 or whether you should put the car up in the air before you remove all the lug nuts . But to get so angry because somebody doesn't like what you've done(your choice of brake calipers ) and wrote here about, explictly tells you about it here and you don't like what you hear?!
Not trying to change your opinion in any way!

Alexander one of the reasons everyone likes/loves Rennlist is because most everyone is
1. polite
2. very generous.
it becomes a family like atmosphere. And folks develop lots of friendships and generally feel VERY comfortable. It would be a shame to lose that. Flame wars-just dont help the cause. Repeated flame wars degrade the forum and drive good people away, people whose opinion I dont want to lose.

OldGuy,
see, "polite, very generous" is only small portion of "a family like atmosphere". Well, at least in my experience. Those two qualities are almost equal, though, to what "an elite club" is (that's how I see "elite clubs" never being part of one ).
Compassion, desire to help and share, being honest and straightforward - those are the things, that I value here on Rennlist. Respect to the elderly people too!
I don't want 993 forum to become an elite club of Rennlist!
