I always wondered about you guys that INSITED on washing your car by yourself (never let ANYBODY touch it, warm water and no soap!), but now I am coming around.

I had my 95 at a hand wash place by my work. They called and asked that I come by...there had been an accident. One of the car wash specialists was backing my car up, and a hose caught the driver's mirror. It pulled the mirror off, with little or no damage to the door!

Of course, the car wash is paying for the repair, but I have a question on parts to speed along the process. ....

The mirror and outer shell are fine, just needs a refinish and repaint. However, the metal piece inside the mirror base (that the screw threads through to put the mirror on and off the car) broke in two. I cannot see what the piece that fits inside the door looks like (it fell down into the door).

Does anyone know what this piece is called, or the part number? Does anyone know if the piece comes with the new base (it is being replaced anyway)
