Post Dealer hourly rate schedule

I recently had to replace my '97 993's evaporator coil. The dealer charged me for 10.2 hours of labor. This seems too high. Does anyone have a dealers hourly service schedule that can confirm or deny this? Thank you!

Hey Doug,

How are you? Haven't heard from you since your last computer crash.

I don't have the dealer hourly schedual book, but if my memory serves me right (stole that line from the Iron chef show), the evaporator is located deep inside of the air conditioner housing that's located in the front trunk in front of the firewall. In order to replace the evaporator they will have remove the complete housing unit. An absolute nightmare of a repair job. I would say 10.5 hour labor is a fair charge.

If you go to alldatadiy.com you can buy an annual subscription that includes, among a bunch of other stuff, the "book" labor for the R&R of most components.
