which light upgrades and why?
The lights are dangerously dim for night driving - so much so that the fogs output more useful light. I put bayoptics in my 997 because I *do* like how they look there, but have been disappointed with fitment and aiming, so I'd like to hear from this community if Morimoto, 9haus, or anyone else has something better as a retrofit with better illumination. I'm not tied to staying 100% period correct. I'd like to keep most or all of my mods reversible - that is to say, if someone suggests I crack open the housings, that will mean I'm buying new/used OEM to do so, and while not overly cost sensitive, I am very time sensitive to this part of the journey. I prioritize good, fast, cheap in that order.
I would also like to convert the fogs to LED with the paint matched replacements. Any other interior/rear lighting upgrades are welcome here as well. I'm interested in illuminating the heckblende (but not the morimoto rear bar), etc.
Thank you all.

But looks like he is out of stock for the headlight upgrades. I did get the rest of his LED kit, and now that he got the cruise control ballast sorted, it's a great upgrade too.
I've come around to liking Morimoto's 993 lights also:

I have their lights on my F-250 and have been real happy with them so far.
Bergville's kit keeps your factory headlight housing and glass, it just replaces the bulbs with modern stuff.
Morimoto is a complete replacement.

I use the low beam HID and the high beam LED bulbs. Replaced all running lights, brake lights etc.
Huge improvement for seeing and being seen. Brake lights are bright enough to almost hurt your eyes from behind the car.
Here’s a photo testing out the LED high beams. You don’t need more light!

The Retrofit Source in the US, used to offer a similar Morimoto bi-xenon kit…that’s actually what I installed many years ago. Apparently that kit is no longer available from them. I did the Retorfit Lab projector kit in my Boxster S, with absolutely spectacular results.
I also have an HID in the stock fog.light in the 993.
Also, get Tore’s full exterior LED kit, get the euro fog kit also, to add extra brake lights. It’s an enormous difference, and makes these little cars really stand out amongst all the behemoths we share the roads with.
Completely stock in appearance with these mods, unless you want the modern look of those Morimoto LED headlights.

Whilst the headlight is apart, fit some kind of HID upgrade for the projector, that sits inside the housing. There are many available. This has been enough for me.
...to go further, this solution seems to be popular...

**** much more importantly, what paint colour is your 'new' 993?
Great questions!
Using the OE lens pods, the best solution is the HID lamp.
The generic kit for H1 bulbs that have the slim ballast fits completely inside the headlight pod and replace the low-beam halogen bulb.
A blue-tinted halogen bulb can be used for the high beam if you want a color that matches the low-beam HID bulb.
Tore from Bergvill FX offers an exact fit kit that includes a bracket for the ballast and tailored wires specifically for the 993 Halogen bulb headlight pods.
If you desire an LED solution, you will need to buy and install an aftermarket LED-compatible lens projector kit. They can be expensive.

They do make blue-tinted halogen bulbs that fit the fog lights and match the HID lamp color. I do not think there is a HID solution for the fog lamps that does not involve extensive reengineering.

I am working on a new kit, but we have to be absolutely sure that it comes up to our expectations before we launch it. We are especially concerned about the long-term quality. I am unable to tell when the new T--LIGHT kit will be ready.

I was hoping to swing your way and appreciate the reply here. Do you have a rough guidance you could offer such as quarter/half/year timeline?
Thanks!
