I've got more than 20 years on you and, as long as I'm able to drive 'em, I'll never sell the 993's. A neighbor a couple of blocks from me has a brand new Gentian Blue Carrera S and, while he enjoys it, he admitted that he wants to get back in a 993. As his car depreciates, well maintained 993's appreciate.

The car that looks black is actually Ocean Blue. It is the same car as the purple looking car in my pics. I’ve owned 5 different 993’s, but owned the silver C2S twice. The blue car was a Canadian car sold new in Quebec. I bought it with 32,000 miles in 2018. A local lawyer bought it from me and still has it. Really clean car with factory sport seats. Manual car. The only tips were my current car and the Arena Red car with the Sport Classic wheels. It had factory black sport seats - Canadian car.

Good for you NC Trackrat! Hope you have many years of 993 driving ahead of you! I hear what you are saying and get the depreciation comments. I would only buy a newer 911 if it was my daily driver. Still undecided if that’s what I want to do now. When my wife and I retire, the plan is one new(er) 911 and a Macan S (assuming I still like the design then) as our daily drivers. Perhaps keeping the 993 a while longer isn’t a bad idea. Luckily, I don’t need to make any decisions today 😀

Same here. We have an X5 and little Volvo C30 for dailies, but could never part with the 993. I’ve had a new Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne over the last 20 years but nothing has the smiles per mile as the 993. I picked up the low mileage 993 last November because I was hitting 60, retirement, and knew I’d have more time to enjoy it!

Just looking through your beautiful ownership history.. it's evident you can't shake your love for the 993. If you sell this one, how long until you find yourself looking to buy another one? :)

Also, keeping a 993 in shape can be a fun hobby to have once you retire. I like to think that by the time I will retire, I will need a new clutch and a top end rebuild and I contemplate the idea to do it by myself to keep me busy during retirement.

No, Mark no! Keep the 993 for several years after you get a 992. Everyone told me to "sell the Z because all you need is the P car". Would have been big mistake. You might find the 992 a large, numb, less involved drive.

I had a 991S PDK with all the goodies for a couple of years. The new cars are meh....fast, to be sure. But no character. The new 911's could be Hondas. There is nothing special about them. I sold my 991 and pulled the 993 out of storage and it was like being reunited with an old friend. If you do get a newer car, if you can I would keep the 993 at least until you're sure you like the new car.

I'm biased, but I say keep the 993 and add a 992. It really is the best of both worlds.

Fwiw, I have used my 993 as a daily driver since 2001, now have 186k-ish miles, and it is a glorious machine. I am now perhaps one year away from retirement, and I cannot imagine not having such a fabulous machine to "play" with, Lord willing! Each has a different priority for ownership, to be sure. But think well here as selling a 993 is a whole lot easier than buying one later on. :D
